Is that a soda dispenser on the left, looks pretty cool. I like how the shelves are in the wall too.

Very nice, Bob. That must've cost you a pretty penny.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I've had my HT for a few years now, but I keep adding some new elements.

Yes, it is a vending machine -- a Skybox -- but I created a new overlay for the front which is a montage of some of my favorite movies. I included a close-up below.

Hi Bob:

Very nice set-up.

(I worked on the Shrek movies, so I'm happy to see the ogre's face in your Skybox!)

Hey, I see that you've joined the HD-DVD revolution. Any chances of joining the Blu-Ray one as well?

That's really awesome! How were you involved in the Shrek films? Sounds like a dream job!

As for Blu-Ray, I have very little interest. In fact, I would prefer it just go away but that's obviously wishful thinking.

I'm one of the character animators for them - make the characters move and dance.

Hey, with Blu-Ray, wouldn't you open up the door to so many other HD movies? Like all the Fox, Sony, Disney flicks?

You seem to embrace HD-DVD so well - I just started my HD-DVD collection a month ago, but already I feel like I'm missing out on the Spider-Man, Die Hard, Bond flicks in HD.....

What do you think?

----

Also, one more question....What DVD's are on the opposite wall shelf?

---

Do you use your popcorn machine....I always wonder if people just get them for displaying purposes of if they use them.

That's a great set up. Where did you get the vending machine at? That's so awesome.

Nice setup Bob. It's rare that you see a CRT projector anymore. How often do you have to ISF calibrate that bad boy?

That an awesome job you have! Are you employed by Dreamworks or are you a freelance animator or something? I nearly went to a design school many years ago but decided against it.

With the format war I don't believe in the "neutral" stance at this point, as I am very happy with HD DVD and have plenty to buy. My belief is when HD DVD players hit the million mark, then 2 million, etc, studios will need to release their movies on that format. I don't like the politics behind Blu-Ray, the lack of any up-to-date players besides a videogame console, the higher price tag, and the arrogant BS from Mike Dunn, Bob Chapek and Andy Parsons. I will stick with HD DVD until I have no other choice.

As for the other movie rack, here's a picture below. The right side has the continuation of drama, sci-fi/fantasy, thrillers, and Disney / family titles.

Used it once. It actually makes very good popcorn but it's a pain to clean. Microwave popcorn is so much easier!

Actually got the VM from Home Depot. It comes with a standard front panel, but I created the movie montage and had it printed on the vinyl surface at an imaging company. It's called a Skybox! Pretty inexpensive too. It's great for entertaining.

Is the Skybox actually stocked with soda?

I actually am qualified to calibrate it myself. I purchased it brand new from Dwin nearly 8 years ago for $12K and it still has a perfect image. It doesn't get used that often and has few hours on it.

BTW, I like your tastes as well! Great minds think alike, as they say!

Bob - do you happen to do A/V service for a living? You have just about every HD-DVD out there...

Just out of curiosity, are you working on Kung Fu Panda or Madagascar 2: The Crate Escape? If so, anything you can reveal about the plot?

No, I just love movies! And I only have 244 HD DVD's so far and there's well over 300 available, so I have to get off my ass!

Just kidding -- there aren't any out there that I want other than a few more imports that are on my Xmas list.

I'm on Madagascar 2 right now.

What I can tell is what's already been announced in the press: the zoosters escape from Madagascar in a plane, but crash land in Africa. Adventure ensues!

I'm sitting here working on it on one computer monitor and staring at your home theater pics on the other monitor.

THAT'S what a home theater looks like!

Do you have more shelving for future DVD purchases?
