I saw this at Comic-Con (I really liked it by the way) and I was interested to see how they would handle the aftermath of the Superman death and

Spoiler:

they replaced the 4 Supermen with a Clone Superman, who really is kinda like the Cyborg Superman. It worked for me though I really wish they showed more of Doomsday.

The Superman/Doomsday battle was awesome...They beat the living sh*t out of each other.

This is one of the few animated D-T-V films that I'm waiting for and will actually watch it the second I get my hands on a copy. This won't end up in the "need to watch" pile.

Any reviews of the content popping up anywhere?

Can't decide if I want to pick this up on Tuesday.

I watched this last night. IMHO, this is the BEST animated one-shot they've done to date on Superman...I loved it! My only quibble is that the period between Superman's death and "rebirth" are a little too fast in the film (only about 10 minutes...if that), but otherwise I think this was a great movie. Unlike so many other direct-to-DVD animated superhero movies, this one has a lot of character development. But don't worry, there's plenty of action, too!

The 43-minute "Requiem and Rebirth" featurette is a must-see. It covers the death of Superman in the comics, and features new interviews with virtually the entire creative team at DC Comics. It was as fun to watch as the movie itself.

This is a must-have for Superman fans.

Will there be a bunch of store exclusives by chance (if so, does anyone know what they are)? I'm looking forward to this!

I was all set to blind buy this on Tuesday, but now it's shown up as a HD DVD placeholder on Warner's site. I'm not buying if this is just going to show up in HD in a couple of months... looks like I'm waiting.

Bruce Timm said at Comic-Con there will be a behind the scenes DVD available from Best Buy (pictured in this thread), but apparently that's not the case. Not sure which retailer is going to have the bonus DVD.

I'd planned on BB because the comic seems the best exclusive so far, but if there's going to be a bonus DVD floating around somewhere, I'd go for that in a heartbeat! It's not at CC... I wonder about Target?

We're not positive what Target has yet, but it is something exclusive.

We'll have all the exclusives in the weekly list of course.

He looks pretty much like he does in the comics, he doesn't have the green suit he arrived in, but other than that it seems like a match to me. It is Bruce Timmized, of course.

Picked-up a copy up here at Walmart. C$17.93. Exclusive is the Death of Superman Comic on CDROM. Looks like this is a US release copy as there is no french anywhere on the package.

I watched the doomsday movie this morning. .it was good. better then the superman brainic. I had problems early on with the different voices. it did better as it went alone. I still like the original animated series better. but still worth watching.. a warning for parents with kids.. this a PG-13 rated movie and does contain some strong violences. I would watch it with them or watch it before to judge for yourself on the content of the film.

I like the graphic nature of the movie, but I'm hating the different voices. Why the hell would they not get the same talent from the TV show?

It was explained like this in the doc: they wanted to make it obvious this is not a sequel or in any way related to the Animated Series. Different animation, different voices.

Why, though? Sure, that's probably the way they could say it w/o saying they didn't want to fork over the $$$. It seriously distracting to see characters I've seen on TV for years, and hear them differently. It honestly detracts from the enjoyment of the film. Seemed like they cheaped out on this, when they could've went all out.

How did they didn't cheapen out? Adam Baldwin, James Marsters and Anne Heche may not exactly be A-listers but they're probably more famous than Tim Daly, Clancy Brown, and Dana Delaney.

And these aren't the same characters from Superman: TAS anymore than they are the same characters from Smallville or Superman Returns. This is a different interpretation of the characters.
