This story just won't be the same without Steel, Superboy, Cyborg, and Eradicator.

Spoiler:
The Superman/Doomsday battle was awesome...They beat the living sh*t out of each other.

This is one of the few animated D-T-V films that I'm waiting for and will actually watch it the second I get my hands on a copy. This won't end up in the "need to watch" pile.

I watched this last night. IMHO, this is the BEST animated one-shot they've done to date on Superman...I loved it! My only quibble is that the period between Superman's death and "rebirth" are a little too fast in the film (only about 10 minutes...if that), but otherwise I think this was a great movie. Unlike so many other direct-to-DVD animated superhero movies, this one has a lot of character development. But don't worry, there's plenty of action, too!
The 43-minute "Requiem and Rebirth" featurette is a must-see. It covers the death of Superman in the comics, and features new interviews with virtually the entire creative team at DC Comics. It was as fun to watch as the movie itself.
This is a must-have for Superman fans.

I was all set to blind buy this on Tuesday, but now it's shown up as a HD DVD placeholder on Warner's site. I'm not buying if this is just going to show up in HD in a couple of months... looks like I'm waiting.

Picked-up a copy up here at Walmart. C$17.93. Exclusive is the Death of Superman Comic on CDROM. Looks like this is a US release copy as there is no french anywhere on the package.

I watched the doomsday movie this morning. .it was good. better then the superman brainic. I had problems early on with the different voices. it did better as it went alone. I still like the original animated series better. but still worth watching.. a warning for parents with kids.. this a PG-13 rated movie and does contain some strong violences. I would watch it with them or watch it before to judge for yourself on the content of the film.

I like the graphic nature of the movie, but I'm hating the different voices. Why the hell would they not get the same talent from the TV show?

And these aren't the same characters from Superman: TAS anymore than they are the same characters from Smallville or Superman Returns. This is a different interpretation of the characters.
