Peter Travers is a quote whore. He loads his reviews with little lines that can be quoted on everything. :D

kingtopher 01-01-07 10:24 PM

Hmm, I actually like the cover art for the 1-disc version better, but I'll buy the 2-disc one.

CanDVDFan 01-02-07 04:52 AM

Both covers are CLASSY, but ya the one discer looks better by a slight margin

Chip718 01-08-07 01:17 PM

According to THIS LINK the HD-DVD version will be available on 2/13.

OldBoy 01-08-07 05:20 PM

why is this priced $34.99 at Amazon? even if it changes prior to release, i've never seen such a price for a mere 2-discer only a month before...

project86 01-19-07 08:11 PM

Pretty nifty little exclusive to futureshop. "Steel" case.

Cameron 01-19-07 08:12 PM

i still don't get why futureshop gets all these steel cases but no one in the states does.

Now THAT'S a cool cover!! I dig the single disc cover over the 2-disc version.

Why the hell can't they just stick to using the movie posters?!?!?

Cameron 01-20-07 01:30 AM

i thought most of the futureshop cases were just that...you buy a copy of the regular dvd and they give you a steelbook

digitalfreaknyc 01-20-07 01:41 AM

what are the specs on the 2 disc edition, btw???

Fincher Fan 01-20-07 01:51 AM

- 9 additional scenes with introduction by Martin Scorsese
- The Story of the Boston Mob featurette
- Crossing Criminal Cultures
- Theatrical trailer

Pretty lackluster overall.

Zodiac_Speaking 01-20-07 10:24 AM

I thought another bonus was an overview of Scorsese and his career?

i think the biggest bonus for this release is the movie itself. one of the best of the past 10 years!

nope. the TCM documentary Scorsese on Scorsese did not turn up as anticipated. its a shame since all of his WB work is out in the box set, so this would be the last chance to release it without a double dip down the road. hopefully it will turn up as a retailer exclusive

ReduxGuy 01-20-07 04:27 PM

Or as an easter egg on the two-disc.

It's 86 minutes long. I doubt they would hide something like that as an egg.

DJariya 01-20-07 05:47 PM

The extra disc doesn't seem worth spending the extra $10 or so. I may just pick up the single disc release for this one.

No Scorsese commentary?

awesome news if this holds true.

Mr. Cinema 01-23-07 06:35 AM

I'm in for the 2-disc, regardless. This is still my top film of 2006.

DJariya 01-23-07 09:18 AM

Well deserved nominations today for Best picture and director.

I'm sure he would have done one, but Warner just doesn't seem interested in doing them anymore. Look at the last several Warner special editions, no commentaries to be found.

OutRun2 01-24-07 04:07 AM

will the 2-disc special edition come on the HD-DVD version as well?
