Good to know. I was thinking about getting it and was going to switch disc 1 on my set (for the DTS track) but since it's split across two discs, I think I'll pass.

For the people who bought the Infernal Affairs trilogy, what was the cover art for IA 1 like? Was it the aweful red one with the lady in the middle? If so, it would stard out compared to IA 2+3. Anyone care to post pics? Hehe thanks

Except for one shoot-out sequence (and a short one at that), I don't recal any real action in the movie.

Yeah it's just the old "IA" disc with the red cover in a box with the new "IA2" and "IA3" discs. It looks sorta sloppy but it's not the end of the world, either.

Watched my rental from Netflix last night - good flick, but not worth buying. I've just never liked Matt Damon or Leonardo DiCaprio.

I ordered my copy Monday afternoon and got a shipping notice later that evening. And today I received it in the mail. There was no padding in the box whatsoever but it was in excellent condition.

Did you get the steelbook version or the standard?

As a diehard Jack Nicholson fan I honestly can't believe two things:

1)Can't believe he wasn't nominated for his performance in this film

2)Can't believe he didn't participate in ANY of the supplemental extras on the dvd. Very dissapointing. Would've love to hear him talk about how he prepared for the role what he thinks of his character.

1) he's been nominated to death, and i think although it was a good performance, it was one of the weaker of his career and not the strongest in this movie.
2) jack doesn't do supplements...like ever!

Actually, he recorded comentaries for As Good as it Gets, Something's Gotta Give, and The Passenger. He also participated in the DVD extras for Batman, contributed a piece for Criterion's L' Avventura and speaks about The Shining in "Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures" though I don't know if you'd consider the latter an extra.

I agree  ... I bought one

^Well, clearly you just went in to compare it to the Hong Kong version so anyone or anything that differed will register as bad on your radar.

tylergfoster 02-17-07 07:54 AM

Still no Future Shop steelbook pics?

Nope, I already own and seen the Infernal Affairs trilogy, why I bought the Target edition is simply because I love double dipping (especially with store exclusives) . As far as the movie, each has its own manner of presentation but with similar plot - Mole vs Mole

The Future Shop steelbook is the exact same as the Best Buy steelbook.
2 disks, 4 postcards, same everything. So take a look at the pics posted, its identical.

Xage, I wasn't talking about you. The user "Visitor Q" had a post here before bashing The Departed and saying how everything was better about Infernal Affairs and was wondering why people actually liked the Departed. He also posted this in the movies section. Both of his posts have mysteriously vanished and therefore it now appears that I was pointing to your post. Clearly, you are a fan of film.

You are correct, sir. I deleted them. I was pretty out of it when I posted up and yeah .. no reason for it. Sorry. Just wish the film lived up to the hype as I really wanted to enjoy it. But this thread's about the releases, so I won't post here about discussion of the film.

xage 02-17-07 03:27 PM

Ack and understood Darth marino.

Because he sits at the store for about an hour looking for the perfect copy? Haven't you seen those kind of people at your local store? My wife and I laugh at them all the time...

cardaway 02-17-07 04:43 PM

My for those in my area, the Everett WA store still has steelbook copies in stock. I picked up one and there were at least ten left. In the Drama section with the other titles that start with the letter D.
