I dont like the unrated on the front. They should have kept in along the same lines as the remake's cover. I hope this is a 2-disc set as well.

Not sure about that cover. But if the flesh-slipcover is cool, I might pick it up. I never saw it theatrically and it seemed to have received a wide gamut of reviews.

The movie was terrible. It was 98% of the movie with the sheriff f'n with people and 2% of the time Leatherace and family. Seriously, Leatherface has a cameo in this movie. It should be titled Sheriff Fucking With Kids.

Well if we're lucky, the keepcase for the unrated won't have the image used on the slipcase. Though most studios use the exact same artwork on keepcases and slip covers. So I guess I won't get my hopes up on that.
I do hope, however, that New Line includes both versions of the film on the unrated release like they did with Wedding Crashers, Blade Trinity and countless other films. But even that may not happen if their unrated Dumb & Dumber is any indication. That's their first unrated release I'm aware of that didn't offer the theatrical/rated version as an option.

i guess most people will prefer the rated cover, which is a bit unfair, because who will buy a rated version, if there also is an unrated one?
the unrated cover is a bit digusting (which was probably their goal for the unrated version and the film theme) and reminds me a of mason verger alias gary oldman in "hannibal"

it doesn't surprise in the slightest that there is an unrated cut, the theatrical R-rated version was probably one of the few R-rated films that bordered right on the NC-17 rating cusp.

Didn't see this theatrically, but looking forward to the DVD. As for covers, I tend to prefer those of the unrated versions, and the same goes for this one.

Here is a review of the dvd with spoilers and a nice unrated scene photo, which is a major spoiler. So don't click the link if you don't want things ruined for you.

i added this one to my personal dvd release scedule a 2 weeks ago.
it got bad reviews but critics tend to be wrong sometimes.

I don't know if I'll spend any more money on this awful piece of shit, even if it means that my TCSM collection will be incomplete. It's easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen. When I saw it in theatres, I wanted to leave half-way through. However, I stuck it out, in the hopes that it would get better.

I've been looking forward to this release! I didn't get to see it in the theater, but I'm hoping that the Unrated version is even gorier than what I heard about the theatrical version.

I missed this in the theater and it seems the reviews here are mixed about this one. Being a TCM fan I will be picking up the unrated and keeping my fingers crossed on the quality.

Thankfully, this is coming out only in the single disc variety-- both rated and unrated-- so there's no exorbitant pricing for a 2-disc. Best Buy has it for $16.99, Circuit City for $14.99. No promotions worth noting, unless one cares about a movie ticket to Number 23. Will be getting it at Best Buy and price matching.

(And with Kate Hodge starring, I've been wanting to see it. Only place I've seen her is The Hidden II, but I dig her.) TCM: The Next Generation doesn't boast much, but it's a poor sequel, so I wouldn't expect much. Least it's anamorphic.--THX
