Kevin Spacey commentary is new. Think the "Secret Origin of Bryan Singer" is as well. I'm fine with the current version. This release has far more to do with Sony getting MGM's catalog than an improvement for the fans.

I'm happy with the original, but yeah there probably will be multiple HD or BluRay releases.

All-new extras to this edition include an audio commentary with director Bryan Singer and actor Kevin Spacey, "The Secret Origin of Bryan Singer" documentary and "Keyser Soze: Lie or Legend?" featurette (now newly expanded).

Returning from the 2002 release are a commentary with Singer and writer Christopher McQuarrie, commentary with editor John Ottman, deleted scenes (with intros by Ottman), "Round Up: Deposing The Usual Suspects Parts 1 & 2" ("Pursuing the Suspects" & "Doin' Time with the Suspects"), "Heisting Cannes With The Usual Suspects" and a 1995 promo featurette, gag reel, trailers & TV spots and Easter Eggs. Retail is $26.95.

Well, the second release was just a repackaging of the Polygram release to put the MGM logo on it, so I don't really think that one counts as a dip.

Since I only own this on VHS - always meant to upgrade it, just sort of got lost in the shuffle of other DVDs to buy - *and* there's Spacey commentary, I'll be getting this.

No it doesn't. They changed the cover...that's it.

That's like saying every movie that comes out in both Full Screen and Widescreen versions is a double dip, since the covers have a different colored bar at the top.

Changing the cover and nothing else does not constitute another dip. Sorry.
