No need for another version. I'll stick with my old copy.

The beginning of this thread should have the specs. I doubt, despite a year's difference, that they've changed any.

I have been patiently waiting for this DVD since it was announced for October 2006 and didn't appear. It better come out this time...

Same here. One of my all-time favorites, but I've already triple dipped....if you count the VHS.

Delayed from last year, MGM Home Entertainment may have their The Usual Suspects: Collector's Edition now due for release on November 27th. Pending further (and official) confirmation on that date, director Bryan Singer's labyrinthine crime thriller will arrive as a two-disc set featuring a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 & 2.0 tracks. All-new extras to this edition include an audio commentary with director Bryan Singer and actor Kevin Spacey, "The Secret Origin of Bryan Singer" documentary and "Keyser Soze: Lie or Legend?" featurette (now newly expanded).

Returning from the 2002 release are a commentary with Singer and writer Christopher McQuarrie, commentary with editor John Ottman, deleted scenes (with intros by Ottman), the featurettes "Round Up: Deposing The Usual Suspects Parts 1 & 2" ("Pursuing the Suspects" & "Doin' Time With The Suspects"), "Heisting Cannes With The Usual Suspects," "Bryan Singer Introduces Kevin Space and Friend" and "Introducing The Usual Suspects" 1995 featurette, a gag reel, international & domestic trailers, TV spots and Easter Eggs (Interview with John Ottman and Interview Outtakes). Retail is $26.95.

darn, i was hoping for a Blu-ray edition as well--the current one is lackluster (and there already are double dips on BR: Fifth Element and the soon to be released full metal jacket).

TFE is not a double dip: it is a remastered video due to mastering problems from the initial release. They are "corrected" versions.

It's still a double dip dude. If they were offering the original buyers of TFE on BR then I would think otherwise.

Yeah, they are. Read DVDtalk's review for the information on how to obtain a free replacement from Sony.

No - Fifth Element WILL BE a double dip when they reissue it with the features they've not ported over from the "Ultimate Edition."

I stand corrected as I did not know that. Thanks for the info!

At this point, I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: THE USUAL SUSPECTS: 2-Disc Special Edition -11/28/06

sorry to bump an old thread but did this one ever see the light of day? i knew that i'd sold off my MGM SE for a reason... i'm starting to miss this one pretty badly and i just can't believe the BR received absolutely no respect from the studio when they put that POS out...

Nope, but they have a combo pack coming with the BD and DVD. However, something tells me it won't be the DVD-14 that contained all the features, but rather just the side with the movie. So you could have 2 discs, and still be missing features.

Re: THE USUAL SUSPECTS: 2-Disc Special Edition -11/28/06

The only good news, really, is that the features never seemed to change, so the assumption is they are complete and will see the light of day sometime. This is the 15th anniversary of The Usual Suspects. I'm not holding my breath, but it'd be nice to think Fox is doing this BD/DVD crap to blow out all their stock before putting out a new edition.
