I definitely prefer the HD DVD cover. It resembles the theatrical one-sheet.

Apparently creating good cover art was an impossible mission all its own.

You can see both versions here (sd versus hd)....

The hd looks ALOT better.

Yea, that coverart is bad....Apparently the trend now is that all the major stars faces must be on the cover of the dvd. Look at the artwork for 16 Blocks or Inside Man...same thing.

Just posted an update regarding the cover art. Yes, the horrible looking one is the 1-disc version. The 2-disc is much cooler looking:

Yes, the 2-discer is much more in keeping with the "big Tom head" motif of the other two DVDs/movie posters:

I'm disappointed since it had been reported that the release date was set for Sept 26.

Damn that's a great bonus disc... looks like I'm gonna have to cancel my Amazon order for the 2discer, and get it at BB instead... hopefully I can get the bonus disc with the 2 disc also and not just available when buying the single disc. So I can have a 3 DISC set!!!

Wow, that's one hell of a bonus disc. Hopefully it's not all fluff like the extras on the new MI1 release. Also, I hope you can get it with the 2 disc version and not just the 1 disc.

Question ... does this movie stand on it's own, or is it a continuing story from the first 2 films? I really want to purchase this by itself as a blind buy as I'm a huge fan of Abrams and I think Hoffman is one of the greatest actors of the modern times.

The problem goes further than will-it-be-on-the-2-disc-set (though that's a fair concern in its own right--the POLAR EXPRESS Best Buy bonus DVD was only in the 1-disc version)--will it be available in the Impossible Missions Trilogy boxed set? I'm worried...

I´d like to know whether the BB Bonus Disc content is "truly" Exclusive.

There is no point getting the Best Buy Bonus Disc if the content is on the 2-Disc release.

Update:
Just learned that EZYDVD in Australia will have a third disc with the same bonus as the Best Buy disc ...and it´s cheaper as well.

It definitely stands on it's own-no need to have seen the first two.

Even the second film didn't require you to see the first.
