Just pre-ordered at Amazon. I needs me that briefcase.

Can't wait for December 18th!

Okay, preordered through Amazon the 5-disc set. Just debating how limited the 5-disc hd versions are. Ugh, get Blu-ray or HD-DVD? December is an expensive month, probably going to have to put the hd versions on my Christmas wish list...

So no one knows exactly what the "final cut" entails (especially when it comes to the violence)?

Just place my order for the 5 disk set with Amazon. $54.99 is an absolute no brainer to me...I will be very happy if Amazon delivers before 12/18 as I am a Prime member and get free 2nd day air and 3.99 Next Day Air....

I went to the DVD panel for the Blade Runner: The Final Cut panel. Part of the panel included Ridley Scott (director), actors James Hong (who stole the show he was frickin' hilarious), Joe Turkel, Joanna Cassidy and Sean Young (who looked amazing).

They showed a clip of the newly shot footage of Zhora's shooting. Looked really nice and much better. The visual quality of the print they showed was pretty damn good-looking.

Everything about this release looks great.

Anything about the extra violence in the final cut?

That's the third time you've asked the same question in the last two pages of this thread.

Is the HD release only available in the briefcase set??

I'm not a mega fan like some people. I would prefer the 2-disc set only in HD

Warner can you make it happen please???

Thanks

No, they didn't say anything specific about more violence. I'm pretty sure between all the different versions, 40-odd mins of deleted scenes and a 3.5 hr documentary, you'll pretty much see everything.

All they said was there was going to be a high-def release alongside the SD release "same content".

Yea but this time someone actually had first hand experience.

Yea it's in the international version. Just wondering if it's in the "final cut".

Has it been said whether the HD version will also come in a briefcase?

Totally agree. I've seen sets with less, charge double.

Maybe you should also try Deep Discount. They have a good track record with shipping things early that they shouldn't...(cough) harry potter (cough) ha.

I'd say the best way to get it early is to order from the Warner Home Video website when they list it. I've pre-ordered things from them a couple of times and every time they ship the item two whole weeks before the release date. I always get the item a week before it even comes out, and that's with their free shipping. They also usually have a good coupon code running. 20% off I believe.

Just curious...
How limited is that briefcase? Will there only be a predetermined number produced? I'm just trying to decide how early I should order. I'm also thinking maybe I shouldn't order and wait for a Big Box to maybe have some exclusives. Any thoughts?

Yes, the briefcase will be "individually numbered and in a limited supply." Does that mean you have to order now? No. The Planet of the Apes Head set is still available and it was released in March '06.

Is there going to be something MORE than the briefcase? I would highly doubt it. What more else would they add?

Between his brief scene in that trailer and his Indy 4 comic con video, it seems that the old pissy Harrison Ford has finally been replaced with someone who's really enjoying himself again.

The unicorn scene is completely different. The piano keys Deckard plays has been changed. Ridley's new edit with new close-ups of Harrison's face now makes it seem like a daydream instead of a drunken dream. They removed the short pan of the top of the piano showing all the old photographs. The obvious change was the new added unicorn scene. The color of dream has been changed from yellow to blue/white. Plus the entire dream is now with sound effects. From the stomping of the feet, the horse yell, and that lighthouse noise.
