Here's what Zoetrope should do for the new DVD, along with all of the old features from the Criterion set:

- remastered 5.1 EX and DTS-ES, along with the original Dolby Surround track
- new commentary with Coppola(s), Hart, Oldman, and Cannom
- "The Blood is the Life" (the documentary listed on IMDb)
- An Interview with Eiko Ishioka
- Deleted Scenes and Outtakes
- Rehersal Footage
- "Love Song for a Vampire" music video

Did you notice the release date on this?

Looks like this might be the date for the new DVD.

October 8th is a Monday.

So the best bet would be the 9th (or the 2nd or the 16th).

Not that is anymore specific, but I did notice this on the "Coming Soon" section at the Zoetrope Aubry Productions website (it's Coppola's DVD production facility):

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) New Enhanced Edition on DVD and Blu-ray Disc (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment)
Francis Coppola

I hope this new release includes the Criterion laserdisc extras.

Re: Bram Stoker's DRACULA

Sorry if this has been answered before (I'm sure it has), but I just want a quick answer.

I want the best version of Coppola's "Bram Stoker's DRACULA" released so far. Is it true the Superbit version has all the extras that were on the original release and is therefore the best way to go? Or is there another release that had more? Thanks for any help.

There are no DVDs of Bram Stoker's DRACULA that have any extra features whatsoever. The Superbit can only boast improved video/audio over the regular release, but they're both barebones.

The R4 has some behind the scenes stuff and costume designs.

Ugh, I've said it before and I'll say it again: when Filmmaker talks about DVDs, he's ALWAYS talking exclusively about R1.

I hope that if and when Bram Stoker's Dracula does get re-released, Sony can keep on the bandwagon and release the slightly longer international cut of the film, the bloodier nipple bite scene, the visually altered Kama Sutra illustration. As for the deleted scenes, the non-inclusion of them would be quite unexcuseable. I really want to see when Jonathan Harker attacks Dracula with a shovel)

This is a complete rumor. There is no international cut.

That said, almost all the extras from the Criterion version could be ported over except for the commentary.

The R4 version has the trailers and the making of documentary that was released around then.

The nipple bite is and always has been present in the US release of the film. It's a myth that this is somehow different in other regions. I've never heard of the Kama Sutra scene being any different internationally either.

Well that's a rather limited field of vision, then.

Yeah, I'm the freak--after all, just about everyone in the U.S. has a region-free player, right? Why am I gonna talk, or even know, about releases I can't make use of?

Take it easy, buddy. This all started with a totally harmless clarification made by Fincher Fan, and you responded as if he was in the wrong. You may not have a regionless player (and I don't either), but some people do, and I'm sure that THOSE people are appreciative that Fincher Fan told them that the R4 DVD has some extra features. If I had a regionless player, I would definitely look into the R4 Dracula as a result of his post.

I wouldn't bother. They're really poorly encoded. It's also a bunch of extras that are owned by Columbia Pictures and could definitely show up on a future edition.

Are you fucking kidding me? He called my insights "limited" and basically made the case that, if you're not multi-regional, your feedback is useless. I, for one, don't appreciate his "limited field of vision".

I still prefer the advance artwork the best.

I, for one, can't believe you actually referred to yourself in the third person and still think the guy should be taking you seriously.

I just wanted to add that expecting a random forum member to remember another random forum member's penchant for only referencing R1 dvds in his posts is a bit much to ask.

Dai,
What does the "Beware" poster look like?

I'm no "random" forum member. Neither is Filmmaker.
