It's not a joke; he really did record that song recently. It was originally done by a gay group called Pansy Division.

Hopefully they'll announce it soon, after the Oscars maybe. I can't wait for this one.

TLA has it up for pre-order, with the aforementioned April 4th release date:
http://www.tlavideo.com/details/prod...20500&sn=1&v=2

Separate FS and WS versions. The only extras are three documentaries, apparently.

I suppose they were planning to take advantage of the buzz after this film sweeps the Academy Awards.

Oops.

I'll defiinitely pick it up. My parents want to see it once I have the DVD. I hope the cover art is like the one-sheet.

Looks like a one-disc from the ad. I smell double-dippage.

"Proudly own it on dvd" - Haha. Is that a tagline for us straight guys or what.

This was a very solid film, the best of 2005, should have won the best picture oscar over Crash. BBM is a classic picture IMO. Very powerful movie with incredible performances, directing, cinematography and the score is just remarkable.

I will be picking this up regardless, have no problem double-dipping on it.

Actually I bet that tagline isn't targeted at us straight guys. It's probably meant to reference "gay pride". Miller Lite had a similar campaign targeted at gay consumers. I think they're hoping Brokeback will be a must-own for all gay people and make lots of money.

I agree that it should have won over Crash. By far. I haven't seen Munich or Capote, but of the other three, Brokeback was superior.

I always love it to when studios use just the theatrical posters for the artwork. I think that Focus Features has done a good job with it, can't wait to see the hi-res artwork when it is announced officially. I think the theatrical poster for Brokeback Mountain is excellent and well done.

that's really funny. I can't wait to pick this up. Eagerly awaiting the chance to see this again, and of course I will double dip.

I hope there is a documentary on the fuss this movie made.

It's a movie I won't watch extras for, so as long as the transfer is top notch...I'm in for this one.

Nice cover, but I wish Focus had made this commitment to theatrical art before they released (ugh) Pianist and (even worse) Lost in Translation and (the Canadian is so much better) Far From Heaven.

I'll buy the single disc and probably won't upgrade. Honestly, I have watched and read more than enough interviews by the cast and director that I just want the movie by itself. A small making of docu wouldn't be shabby but that's it.

Edited for:
Has it actually been confirmed that this movie will be released on April 4th (Region 1) because Amazon still doesn't have it listed.

What is strange is that Focus Features hasn't done a press release yet, with the possible street date set at April 4th, 2006. It could be any day now, and I would hope so, as I would love this to be released on that date. The sooner the better cause I just went to the theater to see BBM, and would love to own this.

Members over at the HTF have confirmed that they do have copies of Brokeback Mountain in their hands after a few stores have put out the disc early, confirming that the disc is streeting on the 4th.

Universal will announce official details tomorrow.
