Specs:
Universal has officially announced Serenity which stars Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk. This Joss Whedon directed sci-fi will be available to own from the 20th December, priced at around $29.98. The film itself will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with English and French Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. Extras will include a feature commentary with writer/director Joss Whedon, a director introduction, deleted scenes, outtakes, a Future History: The Story of Earth That Was featurette, a What's in a Firefly featurette and a Re-Lighting the Firefly featurette. Stay tuned for the official package artwork.

Just in time for Christmas!
I hope that they do a better job than the TV Show DVDs. Mine apparently has LFE channel problems. When Serenity blasts off while in space, I never hear the "grumble" of the engines.
I think that was last weekend's B.O. take.

That cover art is really quite ugly, and I am not too happy with the menus either. The menus aren't as bad as the cover art though. Bad. Bad bad bad. BAD.
Still, I am getting this, because the movie is awesome. I can't wait.

Looks like this might be the one that gets me into making custom covers
I have to say the menus don't bother me as much as the cover though...

fyi. whedon's thing for the tv show was that 'there was no sound in space,' which i believe is based in fact, so there was no engine noise. they changed it for the movie i believe for the big space battle, and kept it like that for the entire movie for continuity
