Gord, if you're still checking in, can you get Universal to confirm that price? It's a little high for that episode count.

thanks

That's the price of the set.

According to Gord over at www.tvshowsondvd.com the extended Pegasus is not on this set, but this news moves from bitter to bittersweet with the news it'll be on the 2nd half of season 2 so fans will have both versions. Story Link.

Gord, if you're around, has there been any rumblings about a full season 2 set after 2.5 or whatever comes out?

Crap. I was really looking forward to watching the extended version before the second half of the season started. It must give some important details away to be holding it back for the second set.

pinata242; they haven't announced a full season 2 set, or hinted that one is coming.

Chew; if you read the article I said that Universal didn't have time to ready the episode for the DVD release, so they're putting the original version on this set, and the extended on the next (2.5?) set.

A bit disappointing, but since the amazing Gord got an update out of Universal so easily, I don't really suspect foul play. I'll leave this on my wishlist for Santa

They DIDN'T HAVE TIME? What, was somebody holding a gun to their head? F*ckers.

Season 2 will start to run on Universal-HD in Jan, so I can hold off on buying untill the whole season is available on DVD.

I assume they were trying to get the first half of Season 2 out on DVD before the second half started. They're already cutting it pretty close.

What?!!! No extended Pegasus on this set?!!! I think I'll wait and see what the deal is with the next DVD release. Maybe there will be a set with all 20 S2 episodes.

Ah well, at least we'll get that extended version eventually.

Right, but splitting the season in half so that they could sell an overpriced half of Season 2 was their own decision. To get further f*cked by that same decision of theirs really sucks.

I'll wait. Waited for the first set to come out after the stupid Best Buy release, and can wait for this one. Pretty dumb if you ask me.

An extended Pegasus episode is about the only reason to buy this half-season cash grab.

Besides the price being a little higher, WTF is up with all the hostility? Am I the only one here that likes being able to buy the DVDs a little sooner? I'd love to be able to buy episodes of TV series on DVD the week after they broadcast. I'd love to be able walk out of a movie theater and buy the DVD of the movie I just watched (or better yet, walk into the multiplex and buy the DVD without having to sit in the theater listening to crying babies, cell phones, and morons telling the actors not to look behind that door).

I'm disappointed that the extended Pegasus isn't available yet, but I also realized that it's also good to get both versions of the episode for posterity's sake. Come on, for every extended version only movie DVD, there's always a handful of folks that want the original version instead. Why, I bet they could sell almost a hundred copies of the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD if they made them.

Since this set does have other extras like featurettes and all the podcasts, I don't imagine any reason for them to do a full Season 2 double dip. I imagine down the road any "complete" season 2 set will consist of the two half seasons with a flimsy cardboard wraparound that some enterprising folks will sell on ebay for hundreds of dollars.

Gord's article is pretty clear, the next set is the second half of the season, and he also points out the difference between this and some issue with an extended episode of Stargate SG1 (not sure what happened there, I only have one Stargate DVD set, and there's no Richard Dean Anderson to be found on it )

I think there's much ado about nothing going on in this thread.

Well, here's a bit of good news... B&M stores will have attached coupons to the front of the package offering $10 off instant savings when you purchase either Season 2.0, or Season 1 along with Serenity (which will also have coupons attached). May not be a lot, but at least it's something - and if you're like me, you probably want both anyway.

If you want to talk about getting screwed, talk to some Canadians. Season 2 hasn't even aired in Canada, and the 2.0 set was yanked from the schedule a few weeks ago. Instead of being able to watch the half-season before it airs, they're forced to wait another 3-4 months for Space to finish the broadcast. Of course most of the fans will order the 2.0 set from the US, which means Universal Canada won't sell many sets and think Canada hates the show.

Yeah, which is sad seeing as Battlestar is filmed up here in Vancouver. We always seem to get these shows last

That would bring the BSG box down to $23 with Serenity at $18. Reasonable.

Is this instant savings (which is usually store-specific) or a rebate? Just wondering, there's nothing about it in tomorrow's Best Buy ad.

Well, ignore my last post! Nothing like $140 worth of Best Buy Reward Zone coupons showing up that all expire in March to change my mind about getting the Galactica 2.0 set this week.

Don't know if it's store specific - but it is an actual peel off coupon, and not a mail in rebate.

In regards to the coupon it does not say that they must be purchased at the same time, just that you purchase Serenty and one of the BG sets. I doubt Target even carrys the first BG set, which is where I got my copy of Serenity.

Details:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....cat77900050017

I'll just buy my copy at Bestbuy along with Season 1 and return that copy to Target.
