My thoughts exactly although I think most bootleggers could do better. It looks like total shite. Needs a custom cover. |

Heres some news I just saw from Comics Continuum, not sure if its been posted yet.
"Warner Home Video has released art from The Christopher Reeve Superman Collection and Superman II: Special Edition, Superman, The Movie: Special Edition, Superman III: Deluxe Editon and Supergirl." looking at the box, looks like Supergirl will be the 125 min euro version, with a 5.1 English Surround. Guess I'll hold onto the 138 min directors cut. Supergirl According to this the Reeve's Collection will also have the Donner cut, and possibly slighty different cover art, as shown on the back of the box. BUT if look closey you see region 2, so who knows: Reeve Collection And finally, some other back shots: Superman Superman II Superman III |

Ooooooh... that's a *great* idea! |
I wonder if the HD DVD of Superman Returns will offer the deleted scenes in HD.
As for the Donner cut, it's not nearly as bad as the way the other discs look, but it's nothing special. And "The Version You've Never Seen," dear lord. |

They couldn't even use the Superman logo??? |

Why on earth is the Supergirl front and back covers the best of the bunch? http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/supergirl2.html |
I think the bad covers are overshadowing how awesome these releases are. Come on everyone, a new cut of Superman 2 and a 4 disc set of the original, I can't wait.

They ported over the commentary and at least one trailer, but nothing else. It looks like it is the "international version", so my LE has the director's cut. Definitely no upgrading here... |

IMHO, WB is screwing up the release of the SE DVDs by using lame and cheap looking covers. Shame on you WB! I expected much, much more from you. |
Superman II run times?
Anyone notice the different running times on each version with the "Donner cut" supposedly having added footage clocking in at 116 minutes, while the original says 127 minutes?
What is up? |
Director's cuts aren't always longer. I'm sure Donner cut out some of the campy crap Lester put in.
|
I like the boxed set artwork. Looks like Superman 1 will have overlapping discs, which seems to be the new trend these days.

116 is only 11 minutes less than 126.

if Donner added 17 minutes to make his cut 116, that means he started with 99 minutes of Lester which is 127 minutes, thus Donner chopping or re-editting 28 minutes of the original Lester cut. see? |
Donner added a helluva lot more than 17 minutes.
It's a completely different cut. Some things were originally shot by Donner. |

You're right, I just put in the Restored International Cut, they said something like 70 of the theate

Of course, if they release it in both formats, then that would be great! :) |
