I'm through X. I am now in the dark era. While they have excellent matches with HBK, the clicque and Bret, there is plenty of undercrd chaff and embarrasing stuff like Doink and Giant Gonzales. The tone is way too "kiddie-friendly" but in a way where the performers are being forced to act a certain way. Also a lot of the moves and selling seems out of place in this era. Onto WM XI next, the one I attended in person.

I dunno, I guess it's good that it's only one disc out of 21, I mean that's under 5%
.
Hopefully DDD can help without me having to send all 21 discs back. Maybe they'd make an exchange with just Volume 1, that wouldn't be too bad...

My WM IV was fine. As I mentioned earlier, I do get a bit of skipping/stuttering on my cheapo player in the bedroom but the HT Panny plays them just fine. This is a DVD-18 issue. What would really suck is having to send all 22 discs back to get one replaced, then having to go through all 22 over again to make sure there are no other defects.
I am watching WM XI now, and I attended it and the fan fest event. I'll have a lot to say on this one.

Lex Luger was the biggest turd during fan fest. To a person just about all the talent was accomodating for pictures and autos, but this asshole wouldn't look at the camera for a picture, and seemed pissed to have been signing autos. I think he jumped to Nitro a few days after this WM, if I remember correctly. Bulldog was OK, and sitting right next to him.
I actually liked the JJ gimmick Jarrett was doing back then. He let me hold the IC title belt. I met Waltman, Mantaur and one other wrestler in the mall adjacent to the arena. Limp wristed handshake from Waltman. Ramon was pretty accomodating to auto seekers.
Kinda sad when Billy Gunn is the master speaker of your team.
Michaels is finally main eventing. He was super cool after waiting in a huge line to meet him. I was disappointed he didn't win this match. Nash looked to be in great shape here, before his body really started failing. Sid played his role perfectly. Pam Anderson was at the peak of her hotness here. She looked damn good. Nash was in the same position that Cena is now. The fans loved him before he was crammed down their throats as a goody-goody. Nash returned to his previous level of fandom when he turned on Michaels later, same that would happen to Cena. They did the same thing with Micheals when he was going for the belt.
Obvious edit with McMahon doing announcing for the Million Dollar Team and LT's All-Pro Team. I think Pat Patterson did the original intros, but I may be wrong. It is definitely an edit since the start of the announcing is sort of jarring.
Salt n' Peppa's song is edited out.

I thought limp wristed handshakes were only done between wrestlers. Learn something new and worthless everyday. Wish I had gone to the fan fest in Seattle for the Wrestlemania here.

I just watched XII. This is the transition era. This was the first WM for Austin, HHH, Sable and Road Dogg who would go on to much bigger roles in the years to follow. Diesel clearly exhibited "Attitude" before it was "cool."

McMahon's announcing was also on the XI Coliseum Video release...never knew until now that anyone else did it.
Also, Road Dogg wasn't in WrestleMania XII. He was, however, at XI, as 'The Roadie'.

I must have gotten XI and XII confused, since I watched them back to back.
Class: it sounds like the issue is player based then. At least you wont have to return the whole shooting match to get one disc replaced. Darn DVD-18's!

That's why I prefer a DVD-Rom drive over a DVD player. They have less issues playing DVD-18s, DVD-Rs, DVD+Rs, whatever. You simply have a smooth flow and it's easy to flash the firmware if needed.
Also, it's relaxing if you want to be region free. No worries on region locked, PAL/NTSC, etc.
And as an added bonus a computer can play DivX, SVCD, RM and plenty of other formats
I have my PC hooked to a TV and that's basically my DVD player.

BTW, these aren't DVD-18's, they're DVD-14. Only one side is dual layered on these discs, while the other side on most of them are very small, like 1 or 2 gigs.
I know my WM IV is screwed because nothing can play it. I tried a regular DVD player, and 2 DVD-ROM drives, and the problem occurs at the same exact point in each one.
I E-mailed DDD, but no response after a week, so I've E-mailed again. My next step will be trying to go through WWE, and see if there is anything they'll do to help me.

My bad. If you are having problems on multiple players, then it is most likely the disc. In this case, I would go through the WWE directly in hopes that the one disc can be replaced. If you have to replace out the whole set, you need to check each disc again and hope there isn't an issue with any others. This could be a very time-consuming nightmare situation.

I am just getting around to watching these now. I haven't checked WM IV yet, but there definitely is a glitch with my WM V, right at the spot identified by others (the start of the Dino Bravo match).
Did anyone bother to send their disks back and get a replacement? It seems like a common problem, but not one that everyone has.

Anyone had any luck getting a replacement disc from WWE? I'm going to start going through my set this weekend and would like to know how hard it is getting a replacement if I have a problem.

idiot question regarding content. does anyone know if the Run DMC performance is on the dvd (either 4 or 5), also was the whole spoof of wcw (billionare ted, the hukster, the nacho man, scheme gene) on the wm 12 dvd, since its edited out of my old legacy vhs tapes.
