Awesome post. Thanks.
So is there a DVD that contains the initial Hall of Fame induction ceremonies? How many have their been? I know the WM21 had the 2005, the 2004 has a DVD of its own, but how many were before that, and are they available anywhere? I thought that there was just one, but I could be mistaken.

Just found this on a site myself, so it basically answers my question. Looks like the last two years are the only ones on DVD, as the others took place 10 years ago and probably are not available anywhere.

In fact, I actually saw this version recently at my local Best Buy.
I have a question of my own though: I have the Wrestlemania Collection VHS set with Wrestlemania's 1-13 on VHS. I was thinking of burning these to DVD as a companion to the Anthology set, mainly since the original theme music is there and there's no blurring or silencing mentions of WWF. But I was wondering if anyone who has seen any of the tapes from that set and the original Coliseum Home Video releases can tell me how they compare. I've heard that the Coliseum releases tended to be edited quite a bit to fit them onto an SP speed videotape.

On another note, most of 1-13 is already out on DVD, but in R2 UK form. And from what I heard no theme song cuts. But they're basically direct ports of the VHS.

I watched WM 2 and 3. The most striking thing I noticed, watching back to back, is the noticable increase in production values in that one year. WM2 if full of flubs and miscues and WM3 is like an oiled machine in comparison. Both shows were well transferred, and the only thing I noticed changed was Steamboat's theme, and even changed, the original audio commentary was still audible. Steamboat v. Savage holds up to this day as a five star match. I was such a mark for Mach back then.
The writers of today would do well to look back and see how much even the IC championship was put over. I don't think the world title(s) mean as much today as the IC did at WM3.
One other thing I noticed was that even at WM 3 there were several stars without entrance music such as Roberts and the (ech) Killer Bees.
Onto WM4!

Back then, an entire roster was chasing 2 belts.
Now, there are 5 singles belts -- so everythig is diluted.

Finished WM4. Again Steamboat's music is replaced as is Muraco's and Butch Reed's (I think). Demolition's music is also replaced with some generic crap. That is a definite downer IMO. Interesting that Jesse gives a "shout-out" to "wrestling expert" Barry Blaustein, who I'm sure very few of us knew of back then. This disc reqires flipping for the last two matches on the card. Bob Euker, while annoying, was used better than any celeb up to this point. Andre choking him is a classic WM moment.
Onto 5 next, which is the first WM available on PPV on my cable system (actually the first thing ever as it kicked off PPV in my area). I remember being the only Savage fan in a room of 25-30 Hogan fans.

For those who might want to know, WM Anthology sold out at DDD. They now have more in stock, however the price has been pushed UP to $176.37. So happy I bought mine when I did. Also the Bret Hart DVD price went up from $18.88 to $21.24. I got it for just over $15 with the 20% off sale. I guess the high prices are due to high demand.

OK I watched V today. Quality was as good as the others. First WM appearance of the HBK. Slick's and Demolition's music were replaced. I also never realized that Tony Shiavone worked for the WWF. I am surprised I forgot about this. The undercard for this WM was OK, but I won't be disapointed when Hercules and his grape smugglers stop appearing at WM. Lot of big names had their first WM foray. Bossman, Perfect, Powers of Pain, Rockers, and Terry Taylor. It was great to see The Brain Busters my fav tag team of all time. This was the Rick Martel heel turn match. Damn they were good back then.
I give Wrestlemania Anthology Volume 1 a definite thumbs up. I really hope this set is successful, and would love to see Survivor Series Anthology this time next year and SummerSlam and Royal Rumble sets thereafter.

I have a defective disc. My Wrestlemania IV disc will not play from the end of the Rude/Roberts match through the middle of the Hercules/Warrior match. I've watched 1-5, 9, 12, and 14, and 4 is the only one I've had problems with so far. I sure hope I don't have to send back the entire set to get a replacement for just one disc.

Watched VI VII and VIII this weekend. Bossman's music is gone. Also funny is the editing of just the "F" in WWF. VII was like the WWE dead pool. Smith, Andre, Hennig, Von Erich, Bravo, Bossman, Hawk and (I believe) Hercules. VII also mark's The Rocker's first PPV win.
VIII Features singles wins by both HBK and Bret. After beating Tito, Heen says about HBK: Watch this guy. He's gonna be the biggest star of the 90's. He'll be world champion. Prophetic. Hart's IC win over Piper was as good as I remember, probably the last good match of Piper's career. Also of not is Owen Hart's first appearance and win. Shitty end to the main event. Hard to believe that Papa Shango is the Godfather.
Onto WM9!
I have not noticed any problems in my main HT setup, but the player in the bedroom is having a little glitch here and there with both VI and VII.

I watched WM8 over the weekend and i thought the same thing when bobby said that. Also that was most definitely one of piper's last good matches, also according to him the first time he had his shoulders pinned in a wwf ring.

Yeah I heard the same thing on the Bret Hart dvd. Kind of hard to believe when you think about him feuding with Hogan. I actually don't remember Piper being pinned but that might have to do with avoiding Hogan matches.

Did anyone have any problems with their Wrestlemania V DVD? I have tried the DVD in different players and the dvd starts to stutter and look funny during Dino Bravo's entrance, but it then clears up

I noticed this type of problem when watching VI and VII on the cheapo Apex in the bedroom, but had no problems on the panny in the theater. Some of these are DVD 18s which, at this point, should be considered a failure and dumped. That is my one really big criticizm of this set, aside from all the legal related "changes" they had to make. I would have rather seen two discs where needed. But it is a minor quibble; the good player plays it flawlessly. Try yours in a different player.

Since it was hinted on the Warrior dvd that both these guys couldn't wrestle, maybe it was done on purpose

Well I've gone through all 21 discs, and the problem with IV was the only one I had. I tried it again, and it starts during the Roberts/Rude match, wipes out the Vanna White Interview completely, and comes back for the Warrior match.
This latest time the problems actually continued into the Hogan/Andre match, but I have played through that before.
I dunno, I guess it's good that it's only one disc out of 21, I mean that's under 5%
.
Hopefully DDD can help without me having to send all 21 discs back. Maybe they'd make an exchange with just Volume 1, that wouldn't be too bad...
