I've seen a very noticible difference in Air Force One, Dracula, Fifth Element & BLack Hawk Down. The images are deifinately sharper and cleaner than their non-SB counterparts.

The image looks identical to the previous editions (the first one and the one in the big box with the goodies).

It adds a DTS track, but it sounds no different from the DD track.

In short, don't bother. You're giving up a great hour-long documentary, deleted scene, trailers, and other stuff and getting nothing in return.

Any comments on the Black Hawk Down DTS track? I have the standard R1 1 disk release and the DD5.1 track is extremely well done. Then again .. for 10$

I just bought it and haven't had a chance to watch it. But I own the 3 Disc CE set and now the Superbit. I read this review and then went out to get it.

Having watched the Desperado/El Mariachi disc, I certainly hope that the Superbit corrected the image of Desperado. Colors and fleshtones were off. I'm glad there's now a price drop; the original price was steep, and it begs the question, at least in the case of Desperado: why couldn't they just get it right the first time?

How about Cliffhanger and Vertical Limits? I recall there were reports of them having good improvement over the regular version. Is it true?

I was debating getting Hook but I think I'll pass. I may pick up Cliffhanger though if the film quality is supposed to be much improved.

I think this sale should tell you not to expect any double dip SuperBits anymore. Are there anymore on the horizon except for the new release marketing angle (i.e. Brown Bunny)?

I own Dracula (nice improvement, same dated transfer), Mark of Zorro (nothing to compare it to), SpiderMan2 (I noticed a difference) and Lawrence of Arabia (haven't watched).

I was going to pick up Das Boot but heard they also used the same dated transfer. Removing annoying MPEG artifacts is nice but is it worth another $10?

This thread convinced me to get Bad Boys, but it seems split on Labyrinth. What's the consensus on Labyrinth?

IMO, Starship Troopers is the best looking SB, with Hollow Man being a close second.

I would get the regular edition unless you really want the DTS from the Superbit. The transfer is already great and the film is on disc 1 and the extras (Seven deleted scenes, Stunts and visual effects featurettes, Six sequence breakdowns, including on-the-set footage, storyboards, and scripts, 19 production diary featurettes) are on disc 2.

Desperado looks amazing. Pick it up. I used to have the combo set you are talking about.

I haven't watched it yet, but the 'Mask of Zorro's second disc has in big letters on it "full screen". I'm assuming this is correct, that the bonus disc was always this? Just curious since it's usually not on there like so. Also purely out of curiousity, is that just the same disc from the old set put into there?
