Bill and Teds Excellent Collection RECALLED!!!
Just found out from my video store that they got a memo telling them that the Bill and Ted box set (RECENT RELEASE) is being recalled due to "an incorrect phone number on the packaging".
Don't quite know what that means but they had pulled them all off the shelves when I got in.
Get 'em now, folks.

Wow, that's funny. There is indeed a number on the top of the box, and it really does work....
The problem is obviously because it's a 1-800-555 number instead of just being 555.

This reminds me of the Michael Jackson barcode debacle of the 80s or 867-5309.

I guess he's right. I just called the number (1-800-555-6969) and got this message:
"Ooh baby. A nasty girl like me needs a little variety in my quest for pleasure.Oh I know your just the one to give it to me."

I got the set on Tuesday, when it originally came out, if the number is an active number, they have to recall the set, it's that simple. I don't know the whole story, but, what morons over there at MGM for not checking to see if the number was active or not. I think it's wise for people to get em' while they are still out, as if it is not released again, the set will be highly collectible for the packaging and bonus disc. Some will probably not be recalled though, unless MGM goes insane with the recall.

You can call the number and show them what kind of a Wyld Stallion you really are.

I went ahead and went to WalMart when I saw this thread to buy a set for me and one for my cousin. We've both been waiting for this set for a long time.
I wonder how long it'll take to have it be rereleased.

Only numbers 555-0100 through 555-0199 are set aside for dramatic use. Toll free numbers never had 555 fictional numbers. It used to be that local 555 numbers were all unassigned but now they are all real numbers. Here's a list of 555 numbers.

I think the art department working on the box art was trying to tie in with the number that Bill and Ted were thinking in Excellent Adventure. Problem is, it looks like someone forgot to check to see if it was a dead number.
