I think the poll shows that a lot of the old time MST3K fans are gone. Its obvious the show picked up a lot of fans with the Sci-Fi era. Crawling Eye is a very weak episode and I'm also surprised it ranked so high. Many fans consider season three and four loaded with top episodes, but neither season really did that well in the poll. Monster a Go Go of all season three and four episodes ranked highest. That is mindboggling to me. When there are at least 20 episodes from those seasons funnier.

Still, keep bringing anything possible Rhino and I'll keep buying.

Could someone please explain the Sandy Frank factor to me? Couldn't find anything through Google about something preventing releases.

I've been a fan of MST3K for years, but missed the last few CC and all of the SciFi seasons (moved to a small town with a crappy cable company), so my favorite episodes are all Joel or early Mike.

As for my most-wanted releases..

Teenage Caveman
Master Ninja I & II

MST3K used several Sandy Frank distributed versions of movies for their early episodes. Several Gamera films, Time of the Apes and Mighty Jack are among the movies used from Sandy Frank. They not only riffed the films, but they also took personal shots at Frank for the horrible dubbing and editing done to these films for their US distribution.
JOEL: C'mon, everybody! Let's do the Sandy Frank Song!
ALL: Sandy Fraaank! Sandy Fraaank!
TOM: He's the source of all our pain!
ALL: Sandy Fraaank! Sandy Fraaank!
CROW: Gads about the house all day!
ALL: Sandy Fraaank! Sandy Fraaank!
JOEL: Thinks that people come from trees!
ALL: Sandy Fraaank! Sandy Fraaank!
TOM: Gets horrid movies from Japan!
ALL: Sandy Fraaank! Sandy Fraaank!
CROW: Films are always poorly dubbed!
ALL: Sandy Fraaank! Sandy Fraaank!
JOEL: Spielberg won't return his calls!
Here is the a very good article on the history of the show that mentions this. http://www.mst3kinfo.com/history/index.html
But even the reruns were getting thinner. About this time Mike Pearce had the
unpleasant duty to announce that dozens of episodes would no longer air on CC
because the rights to the movies featured in the episodes had expired. It had
begun a few years earlier when the rights to the movie in episode 204- CATALINA
CAPER expired and that episode could no longer be shown. (Tapes of it became
immediate collector's items.) But now the rights to many movies featured in MST3K
episodes were expiring, and when CC staffers made a casual effort to renew the
rights, they learned that, ironically, the movies' appearances on MST3K had
increased their value in the eyes of the rights holders, and none were willing to
sell further rights to the movies without a substantial increase in the price.

Prominent among these rights holders was one Sandy Frank. The word from his office
was that he had been intensely displeased by the mockery of him in several
episodes, and that it would be a cold day in Hell before he allowed those episodes
to be shown again.

I don't agree with that. Maybe it means that those last 4 or 5 years were really good? I'm an "old time fan" and I personally like Mike better, and think some of the best episodes are from seasons 8-9. I started out on Joel but I think Mike's great personality just made the show more fun.

The last 4-5 years were really good especially in the theater, but the episodes that came out on top were not better than many of the shows from the first 5 years. I like Mike Nelson as much as anybody and pay way too much for his autographed books and DVDs, but Puma Man is not even close to the best unreleased episode. Sorry there is just no way. Monster a Go Go the best of the unreleased Season 3 and 4 episodes? There is just no way. The poll was very heavily influenced by Sci-Fi era fans.
