Perhaps I can find an answer here... I already have the two disc Live set.. is it the exact same two discs here as the previous two-disc slipcased version? Thanks!

I flirted with buying this today at Best Buy, but alas for over $100, it could not be.

Are these the original, unedited shows as they originally aired, or just the same old A&E edited versions?

I do believe that they are the same edited A&E versions, just repackaged in those nifty slim cases.

Where can I find out what is edited out of the A&E DVDs?

I've been slowly working my way through the original set for years now, and have never heard that they were edited until now.

Thanks...

I didn't even know they were edited until a few weeks ago when I popped in a disc at random and they just faded out a sketch.

I've been considering the various Monty Python DVD offerings. I might go for this one.

Same here. I'm sure I'll have no problem finding someone to take the two-disc live set if it is indeed that same. The $100 is a little steep, and the editing is annoying, but all in all, this seems about as good as it'll get. The thing that bothers me about the $100 is it's for 16 discs, and the Buffy set I'm getting for the same price has 40 discs and spoiled me I think!

Ditto. I'd like to see what's been edited out of the DVDs, too. I was expecting to pick up the new 16-ton set this week, but this new info gives me pause.

The all summarize Proust competion skit from season 3 was censored. Arthur Mee asks the contestant (played by G. Chapman) what his hobbies outside of summarizing are, he is suppose to say "strangling small animals, golf and masturbating". When I watched this on the A&E dvd it was different.

has anyone made custom covers for the original set? I'd love to save some shelf space by putting them in slimline cases (or 2 6-DVD cases and a double...)
