Action Maybe Coming to DVD!!!!!

TVSHOWSONDVD says Action is being considered for DVD. This is so exciting i loved Action and really would love to own it. Now if only Fox can release Brimstone i'm set. Everyone should vote for it though.

Columbia TriStar is considering releasing Action, the 1999 show staring SNL alum Jay Mohr as sleezy producer Peter Dragon. The show was initially intended to air on cable, and when Fox picked the show up the language had to be censored. Going up against Seinfeld, the show didn't stand a chance and was quickly cancelled after only 8 airings. With 5 episodes left unaired, cable channel FX picked it up to finish things off.

The show would make an excellent candidate for DVD. Most people haven't seen the last 5 episodes, and the DVDs could feature an unedited audio track. Hopefully there's enough demand to justify the studio releasing the show to DVD.

I taped them all when they were broadcast on Trio last year - some of the funniest shows I've ever seen! Hope it happens....

The episodes that aired in Canada (all 13) were played uncut with no censoring.

I'd actually love to see them give you the option of censored and uncensored audio. Sometimes, bleeps are funnier than profanity. Not always though.

Very funny show. Hope this comes about!

*sigh*

(puts away the DVD-RAM's he had recorded in Canada back in the 'pending box' since he has just pulled them out to do the editing to disc)

It never fails....

When this comes out, I can finally die.

I've have hoping for this since it went off the air. I can't think of anything else I've been craving more. This was above Indy on my list.

Great news about a great show. When I saw the first episode I immediately thought it was too funny for network TV.

I agree. The Sandra Bulock bit made this an instant favorite.

Any more word on this.

My bootlegs are wearing out....again.

I'd really prefer to replace with a real copy this time.

Patience!

One thing I've noticed about Columbia, they are slooooooow to get their TV product out. Which is weird, since they don't have any extras (The Critic aside).

Maybe it just takes time to squeeze 20 hours of content onto one single sided, single layer disc!

Was there only 13 eps? I thought that the show went to cable and there were new episodes made specifically for cable. Regardless, I will certainly be grabbing this when it comes out. Action still is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.

calling all Action! fans

from tvshowsondvd:

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (which was formerly known as Columbia/Tristar) is conducting an online poll asking you which television program you would most like to see brought to DVD!
Action! is among the 10 choices, and and currently has the lowest number of votes, so go vote for it!

Jay Mohr was on the radio about six months ago. A caller asked him about DVDs and he said that he was recording commentaries at the time and going through material. This was at least six months ago.

wtf, Action is easily the best of those 10. I was expecting Brimstone or American Gothic to be included, at least.
