is the best buy deal for the book of the dead....i was wondering about that

also wonder if anything special will be in the two pack, or if its just both books shrink wrapped together.

ED1 is not the BOTD version, it's the standard version.

As others have said, the BestBuy deal this week is: ED2 BOTD and regular ol' ED1 release. Best deal is to wait for both to be released together on 11/22... DDD has the LE two-pack for $33.58, that's just over $16 for each one!

Got this today.

LOVE the new image. I was shocked to discover that the previously exposed (and rather tacky looking) filament in the eyeball scene is now practically invisible... I backed it up three or four times to make sure I was seeing correctly. I've lost count of how many people I've introduced to this film... most of them loved it, but each and every one of them complained because they could "see the wire". Now I can try again!

Is this book actually made from dead human skin? It sure smells like it. Is it wrong that I like it so much?

Here are some comparison shots I took of both books. Man, I really hope Army of Darkness comes out with a book edition some day to complete the trilogy but I have a strong feeling it won't.

freshticles, No booklet inside the second book of the dead? That sucks I really enjoyed the first one and was hoping another would be made available in the new set.

It's the same thing as the first one pretty much. 12 pages of art or so embedded in the book with the chapter selection and disc at the end.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but is the disc that is inside this DVD:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....oduct&id=53027

The exact same disc, cover art and all, as the ED1 BotD edition? Just thought it might be a good option for those of us who'd like to replace our scratched discs from the ED1 BotD edition.

Thanks.

I just wanted to say that I think Book 2 looks much cooler than the first book. Book 1 looks like it's about to sneeze. Book 2 is all "WHO DOES #2 WORK FORRRRR!!!!!!"

No.

The face on the disc art is blue instead of red, and the disc is also missing the Fanalysis and Video Nasties features. Everything else is the same.

You don't think if this new one sells good they won't make one for Army of Darkness?

Well Anchor Bay doesn't own the rights to Army of Darkness anymore and Tom Sullivan (who did the art for both books) had nothing to do with the third film. So, no. I don't think they will make one even if this sells well.

There are pages of artwork and such (less than the original), but the small booklet with the history of evil dead was really cool in the first set. Plus there were links to websites and such. It just seems like more work went into the first one. I don't mean to sound petty, but I was just hoping for a little more than a screaming eyeball.

Exactly! Glad I waited to pick these up. I'll definitely be placing and order for that two pack soon!

thanks for the shot of the two-pack Cameron, I'm definitely holding out for that since I didn't pick up the 1st BOTD.

meaning you can display them face out or place them alongside your other DVD's. with this packaging you can only do the former.

Only if you never open the package? I plan on taking them out of the crappy thin cardboard wrapper.
