Nichols (Games Garner, Stuart Margolin, Margot Kidder).....a quirky thinking mans western, Garner was great in this.

I'm suprised nobody mentioned Cupid, starring Jeremy Piven. It was a smart (and very well written) show... Brisco County, Jr. (although I've heard Bruce Campbell has been recording commentary tracks if this is true). Future seasons of The Larry Sanders Show Early Edition (the first few seasons were pretty good, I thought). Anything by Ken Finkleman (besides The Newsroom). Somebody mentioned the U.S. version of The Office. I just read in some trade mag that it'll be released sometime this summer... |

Before I became hopelessly addicted to DVD collecting, I was a CD Soundtrack Collector. There are several companies which release fully authorized and licensed limited edition CDs for both films and TV series with the total runs usually between 1500 to 5000 copies made.
Naturally, the cost of these CDs are usually around $30 or so to justify the production, but they usually sell out immediately (or in the worst case within a few months or so). There are hundreds of shows I would pay a larger than normal price for if a limited edition release were available. For example, the aforementioned WIZARDS AND WARRIORS had 8 episodes and if put in a regular DVD release, something like that would probably retail for about $30-35, right? I would easily pay a retail of $50-55 were it a limited edition release. Is it a safe assumption many here would do the same? I wonder why no DVD production companies have thought of doing this? |
Another one that occurs to me is the controversial Freddy's Nightmares. Although, I suppose there actually may be a chance of it's release some day.
