I got Life of Brian at Borders last month for $13.00. it was mispriced, the achorbay version was 13 too. Got a used Blood for Dracula at Wherehouse for 11 bucks too.
I found Silence of the Lambs for $15 new a few years ago. Don't remember where it was.

In the past four weeks I have picked up the following used at various Blockbuster stores, all marked @ $7.99 each. But ended up picking up enough other titles to make them 3 for $20 = $6.66 each.
GREY GARDENS # 123
ANDREI RUBLEV #34
LE NOTTI BIANCHE # 296
GATE OF FLESH #298
BEASTIE BOYS VIDEO ANTHOLOGY #100

DVD Talk Hero
Billy Liar - $9.99 CAD (new and sealed)
Loves of a Blonde - $4.99 CAD (new and sealed)
Red Beard - $8.00 CAD (used from a rental store, but I'm almost positive that I'm the only person who ever rented the disc as there's absolutely no damage. There's not even a sticker on the disc or packaging)

I got Brazil for $1 through one of those click-on-the-ads-for-points-that-become-coupons sites and valueamerica.com. That was right at the tail end of the insane deals period when the venture capital was drying up.

I havn't come across that many criterion deals. However, out of print dvds I have been somewhat lucky with. Two somewhat good deals I have recieved from Hastings are:
Robocop - 17.99, I am not sure what kind of booklet came with it, but if there was one it was missing.
And
The Royal Tennabaums - 9.99 Complete
