I'm not really committed to any. I'll keep buying a show until I get bored with it, but I've become a bit less obsessive about completing things (for example, I left off the Sopranos about halfway through since I don't really have any desire to rewatch this show). I also think I'm much more likely to buy a show all the way through that has a reasonable number of seasons (that kills the Simpsons--especially since I don't have much desire to watch a lot of the newer episodes)

In Progress
Seinfeld (Definitely will buy all seasons, they're all good; plus, it didn't go on overly long)
Dead Like Me (1st season was blind buy, I liked it very much--only 2 seasons).
Twin Peaks (if it ever comes out)
Dream On (unless I get bored, but really enjoyed S1)
Mr. Show (one of these days I'll buy S4)
Soap (I think, unless I start getting bored; so far it's great)
Star Trek TOS (also all the movies with original cast, and the cartoon when it gets released)

Would buy if released
Wild Wild West

Undecided
Six Feet Under
South Park (I definitely need more seasons of this, may not buy all)
Penn & Teller Bullshit (will buy at least one more season)

Completed
Angel
Buffy
Dark Angel (1st season was blind buy, liked it a lot)
Firefly (1 season)
The Monkees (thanks, CH, $10 shipped for both seasons)
The Prisoner (the reason I first bought DVDs)
The Avengers: Emma Peel episodes only (the other reason I first bought DVDs)
Planet of the Apes (1 season--all the original movies too)
Monty Python's Flying Circus (box set, that was easy and cheap)
The Office (another blind buy. Pretty good)
The Awful Truth (bought as a set)
The Ben Stiller Show (1 season)
Danger Man/Secret Agent
HR Puffnstuf (1 set--mostly purchased for a couple of episodes)

Own some episodes, probably won't complete
Sopranos (Watching once when they're first on HBO is plenty)
Simpsons (I think 5 seasons is probably enough for me)
24 (I may change my mind once I actually watch-couldn't resist for $12)
All in the Family (I may buy one or two more, but that's it)
Gilligan's Island (1 season is more than enough--bought for pilot)
Lost in Space (Entertaining, but 1 season is plenty)
Kung Fu (does not hold up well IMHO)

There seem to be a lot of folks who fall into one of two categories: There's the Sci-fi Channel guys whose lists are populated with all the Trek series, B5, Farscape, SG-1, etc., and the WB crowd whose lists all seem to be stuff like Buffy, Angel, Roswell, Tru Calling, etc. Reading through all the posts, it's almost gotten to where if I see one or two key entries, I can guess most of the rest of the list. And we seem to have very few older folks here judging by the lack of westerns and detectives. Come on, someone post a list with like 77 Sunset Strip, Laramie, and Honey West...

I'm pretty adament about TV on DVD, but i've become a bit jaded by the fact that a few of the shows i've bought won't produce any more seasons but here's my list:

Simpsons
Alias
Buffy
Angel
Six Feet Under
Deadwood
Carnivale
Harvey Birdman
24
Family Guy
Futurama
Friends
Will And Grace (hoping for more seasons)
Firefly
Wonderfalls

Then there are the shows that won't get anymore seasons:

Mad About you
Boy Meets World
Night Court
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Jetsons

I just wish that the studio or distributor would make an agreement to put out all the seasons before they release any.

I'm aware of Mad About You, but has this been officially communicated? That's unfortunate as I'd love to get all seasons of Night Court.

Ack. TV shows on DVD are the bane of my life! I started collecting them when a friend sent me her R1 Buffy Season One, since she couldn’t play it at the time. Since then, the avalanche is showing no signs of stopping!

Completed Shows

Angel
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Firefly
Roswell

Incomplete Shows that I WILL finish

Bad Girls (UK programme - now on R1 )
Farscape
Footballer's Wives (UK programme - now on R1 )
The Office (UK)
Oz
Twin Peaks

Shows that I'll probably get in the future

Desperate Housewives
Freaks and Geeks
Hex (UK)

Shows that I won't complete

Queer as Folk (UK) (The first series was wonderful, but I hear the second is crap, and unnecessary. I don't want to spoil a good thing...)

Family Guy 1-2 (still need to pick up 3)
Friends 1-9
South Park 1-5
Simpsons 2-4
Chapelle's Show 1-2
Band of Brothers
24 Season 1 (plan to get the rest once I have money)
Scrubs 1

I actually prefer TV-on-DVD because I can't watch the episodes normally at their regular times so it is easy to pick up the DVD and watch them at my own will.
