How many TV-on-DVD shows are you actually committed to?

By committed, I mean how many shows will you buy every last season of? When I first started buying the TV on DVD stuff, I swore to myself that the only ones I'd buy every season of were The Simpsons and Star Trek TNG. That has long since changed...

My list:
Aqua Teen Hunger Force (up to date)
Arrested Development (up to date)
Batman TAS (need V3)
Chappelle's Show (up to date)
Dead Like Me (up to date)
Family Guy (up to date)
Freaks and Geeks (complete)
Friends (up to date)
Futurama (complete)
Harvey Birdman (up to date)
Mr. Show (complete)
The Office (complete)
Oz (up to date)
Reno 911! (up to date)
Scrubs (up to date)
Seinfeld (up to date)
South Park (up to date)
Star Trek TNG (complete)
24 (will buy all 3 seasons soon)

Ironically, one of the only shows I'm not fully committed to at this point is The Simpsons, given its gradual slide into mediocrity (I'll probably stop around season 10 or so). The only other shows I don't see myself completing are That 70s Show and Penn & Teller's Bullshit. And I realize that a couple of the ones I've listed are ones that only have 1-2 seasons out so far, but they're ones that I plan to keep buying.

Curb Your Enthusiasm
Everybody Loves Raymond
Get Smart
Golden Girls
Homicide (only Season 7 left to be bought)
Knots Landing (yes, I know this is a weird one)
Law and Order (original series)
Mary Tyler Moore Show
M*A*S*H
Moonlighting
Night Gallery
Rifleman (if they were released complete in season sets)
Seinfeld
Sopranos
Tales from the Crypt
Taxi
ThirtySomething
Waltons
Wild, Wild West

The Twilight Zone and The Office (U.K. version), would also be on my list if I didn't already own all the episodes.

Not many, really (and all of them have anywhere from 0-3 seasons available, at the most. They're just the ones I intend to keep up with in the future).

Family Guy - The only TV show for me with enough replay value to justify buying every season I can get my hands on. This is the one that I buy to watch over and over and over again.

Penn & Teller: Bullshit! - I don't have Showtime, so the DVD's are the only way for me to get my fix when it comes to this show.

Nip/Tuck - Season 1 was a blind-buy that I made about 3/4 of the way through the airing of the second season. Naturally, I want to buy season 2 so that I can see what I missed this past year. I'm never any good at clearing an hour per week from my schedule, either, so I think DVD releases are pretty much the only way I'll keep up with this show.

Da Ali G Show - I don't get a TV-Guide, so even though I have HBO, I never really know when this show is going to air (and again, if I do, I always tend to forget about it). Add to this the fact that it's only a $19.99, 2-discs/season release...and that's enough to keep me coming back for more.

Desperate Housewives - I watched the show religiously with a few people (something my schedule and memory usually doesn't permit) during it's first 5-6 weeks. Then my roomie broke up with his girlfriend, so our little group disolved. Now Family Guy and American Dad air at the same time as this show...so I'm involved enough with the storyline to care about what happens to the characters, but I can't watch the show on TV. That justifies my purchasing the DVD (and I assume they'll still run it opposite McFarlane's shows in upcoming years, which means DVD will be the way to go if I want to keep up with the storyline).

CHiPs - Mainly for nostalgia's sake, if they ever get around to releasing it.

Third Watch - Again, if they ever release it, I'd love to be able to sit down and watch every episode, from beginning to end. I really only got into it with A&E's syndication of the show...and I only caught the middle of it's run (probably seasons 4-6, and not even in their entirety...just enough to know what's going on). I loved the show, and I'd really like to just sit down one week and take in the storyline, chronologically, in it's entirety.

The only things I'm set on buying that still has episodes to be released no matter what are:
Batman/Superman Animated Series
Gargoyles
Scrubs

The only show I have a complete run of is Angel. I also have complete runs of The Office, Wonderfalls, and SPACED but I don't really count them as they were bought in one fell swoop and feel more like mini series.

I am currently up to date on Dead Zone and Coupling, but don't feel the need to buy the next seasons if they aren't up to par like I did with Buffy (stopped at season 4).

Well, I own almost all the Star Trek stuff that's out with the exception of Enterprise:

Star Trek: TOS (Season Boxes)
Star Trek: TNG
Star Trek: DS9
Star Trek: VOY (I wasn't going to purchase Voyager, but I found a really good deal on used season boxes.)

If you're a big Star Trek fan, it will (obviously) drain your TV budget since Paramount did such a good job at getting all the seasons of these series out on DVD so quickly (albeit at premium prices; but the A/V quality is there and if you're a big fan you've just got to have them!) I'll be passing on Enterprise, though. It just never "clicked" with me.

Other series I'm committed to:

Farscape - I'm collecting the current affordable "Starburst Edition" reissue of the series.

Firefly - Purchasing this 14 episode one season box was a "no brainer".

M*A*S*H (I have Season 8 on pre-order now)

Columbo

Mary Tyler Moore.

Night Court

Maverick - If they ever release season boxes. (I'll probably purchase the three ep Bret Maverick "sampler" that Warners is issuing in August just to let the studio know that interest remains in this "Shoot from the Quip" comedy/western series.)

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. - Again, if they ever release it.

I purchased the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century complete series box and was sorry I did. Not only was the A/V quality not there, but I found only about 7 decent eps in the entire box that I could enjoy. Oh,well!

I think I've had enough of:
Knight Rider (through Season 2)

And I'll be cutting off Magnum P.I. at Season 5.

I'm looking forward to the announced Rockford Files series that will start in August.

I've finished collecting several shows already (B5, TNG, DS9, etc). As for the incomplete series I will finish:
Alias (have S1-3)
Angel (just bought S1)
Batman: TAS (1 more to go I think)
Gilmore Girls (have S1 will buy the rest)
Highlander (need S6)
Homicide (S7 release date is set)

I have the first 3 seasons of West Wing and will buy S4 but probably won't go any further than that. I have Sliders S1&2 and will stop after S4.

The complete runs that I have that I will *not* sell:

Angel
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer
The Prisoner
Star Trek: The Original Series (though I'm taking my time picking up season 3)
The X-Files (all but the last season here too)

I also had season 2-7 of Star Trek: TNG which I'm slowly selling off for the simple reason that I don't watch them. I've found that there are maybe 10-12 episodes in the entire series run that I really appreciate and many of the others are filler for me. Not a very good reason to have $500 dollars+ sitting on a shelf.

Let's see here... unless noted otherwise, I own all the seasons that are currently available, and am just waiting for the next release.

24
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Batman: The Animated Series
Brak Show
Carnivale
Chappelle's Show
Deadwood
Dead Zone
Family Guy
Forever Knight
Greatest American Hero (waiting for the DDD sale to get season 2)
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law
In Living Color
Jeremiah (if season 2 ever comes out)
Kids in the Hall
Law & Order (only have season 14, need 1-3)
Law & Order SVU (only have season 5)
Loony Tunes Golden Collection (only have vol 2)
MacGyver
Married With Children
Mystery Science Theater 3000 (way behind, waiting for the DDD sale to catch up)
Night Court
NYPD Blue
Penn & Teller: Bullshit!
The Pretender
Profiler (need season 3)
Sanford & Son
Sealab 2021
The Shield
The Simpsons
South Park
Space Ghost Coast to Coast
Star Trek: The Next Generation (need all 7, waiting on a sale)
Star Trek: Deep Space 9 (only have season 1, waiting on DDD sale)
Star Wars: Clone Wars
Superfriends
Superman: The Animated Series
Transformers Generation 1 (need season 1)
Twilight Zone (I have collections 1 & 2, waiting on price drops for the rest)
Undergrads (are they ever doing another season?)
Upright Citizen's Brigade (same question, when's the next season coming out?)

Not yet released on DVD, but buying:
House
Lost
Muppet Show

Completed on TV and DVD:
Angel (own seasons 1-5)
The Cirtic (OK, it's only one release)
Firefly (another 1-shot release)
Futurama (own vols 1-4)
God, The Devil, and Bob (another 1-shot)
Greg the Bunny (another 1-shot)
Harsh realm (another 1-shot)
Jeeves & Wooster (complete series box set)
Monty Python's Flying Circus (complete series box set)
Sports Night (another 1-shot)
The Tick (another 1-shot)
V (mini-series and TV series)

Not sure if I'll complete:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - I watched all of Angel before seeing my first Buffy ep. I've finished season 1, not sure if I want to get the rest.
West Wing - just bought season 1, haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Won't finish unless they're cheap:
Mad TV - I have season 1, and I'd probably go another season or two in, but it's been really bad the last few years.
Ren & Stimpy: I have the first set, but after John K left it really sucked hard. It still sucked when he came back. I'm trying to erase that abortion of a cartoon that they had on Spike TV from my memory.
X-Files - was fairly good until Carter left to work on his other show, then it went downhill.

My advice would be that if you enjoyed the Angel series, then you should definitely get the Buffy series because overall it was a better show. For what its worth, my season-by-season comparison would be:

Seasons 1-3 of Buffy were better than Seasons 1-3 of Angel
Season 4 of Angel was better than Season 4 of Buffy
Seasons 5 were tied (equally good)
Season 6 of Buffy was on par with Season 3 of Angel
Season 7 of Buffy was on par with Season 1 of Angel

I have a lot of TV-on-DVD, but the only ones I'm committed to at this point are:

Homicide
Coupling
V
Star Trek TOS
South Park

There are just so many shows that I love that are uneven from season to season (examples: Simpsons post-S8, Law & Order post-S10, Smallville, CSI, Penn & Teller Bullshit S3, West Wing post-S3 [I might get S4]), and I am not going to buy season sets I don't care for just for the sake of completing a set.

South Park (most likely all of em' since I don't watch the show on CC that often).

Family Guy (current season forward until it gets the axe again).

Already finished Millennium (no interest in season 3) and Futurama.

That's it for TV on DVD, it's hard enough finding the time to watch all of the movies that I'm interested in... I don't watch much in the way of the tele anyhoo, mostly just sports.
