Just a suggestion...how about they move up and restore and release the two missing Bertolucci films 1900 and The Conformist. The European branches of MGM are releasing an UNCUT double disc of 1900...could that be a hint...wake up!!!

I am with you on both titles --

But, I want 1900 so damn bad!! I want to see this again, but the Video Update that had the only copy I could find went out of business and someone bought the only copy (I would have liked to know who - we could totally be movie buddies) before I found out they were selling off their merchandise at $5 a pop. Although I don't think the 2 tape VHS version was even worth that much. I rented it about three or four times and the picture was beyond horrible.

I really want to tell Jon over at Criterion to get down on his knees and do anything to get the rights to 1900 - but Paramount definitely wouldn't budge and I am not sure if Jon is into that.

--------

Great to hear about The Truman Show, though. I recently sold my copy that I got from the $5.50 bin at Wal-Mart.

The Truman Show is one of the best movies of the 90's. The more you watch it the better it gets. Jim Carrey's role in this was perfect casting, just the kind of guy you'd expect to find that has grown up in a tv show.

As for 1492: Conquest Of Paradise, you know Paramount needs to release this already. How long do they want to hold it till? Obviously there are people who want to buy it here and fans of Ridley Scott, it complete's their dvd collections.
It seems like the studio has something personally against the film. This is such a long overdue Paramount dvd release.

Another great title for Clueless would have been "Clueless: The As If Edition"

I enjoyed it immensely, but let's not go nuts.
