Paramont's August's DVDs

I got this from HTF

"The Hollywood Reporter (Today May 11) reports that Paramount DVD will release in August CLUELESS:Whatever Edition, TOMMY BOY:Holy Schnike Edition along with Collector's Editions of THE TRUMAN SHOW, WITNESS, THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY and ISLAND IN THE SKY. Very cool stuff!"

I thought there were rumors about Airplane, FaceOff, Ferris Beuller's Day Off, BraveHeart, and a long time ago a SE of South Park the movie. Has anyone heard anything about any of these titles?

I read a transcript of a recent chat with Matt Stone, who said that he and Trey wouldn't record a commentary for a South Park SE and that there is no documentary footage of the making of the South Park movie.

I want to know when Paramount are going to get off their backsides and release "The Rose Tattoo", "The Court Jester", "War and Peace" and "The Carpetbaggers" on Region 2 DVD. What on earth is the delay? All of these titles have been available on Region 1 for some time now, WHERE ARE THE REGION 2 EDITIONS, PARAMOUNT PLEASE SORT SOMETHING OUT

Nice to see that Tommy Boy finally has a release month. I sold mine when I first saw the trailer on the Without a Paddle DVD. I was getting worried that they might have scrapped it or something. I will probably pick up The Truman Show as well.

Great news about Truman Show. I just picked up the current release after having sold it off a while back.

My only real gripe with the releases are the stupid fucking names... Special/Collector's Edition is fine...

Holy Schnike Edition??? Give me a break.

I wish there was additional word on the supposed 2-disc 'Braveheart'.

Finally, the Clueless SE (or Whatever) in time for its 10th anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long!

Now where's Face/Off, Braveheart, and 1492?

Glad I held off on Clueless (I knew this was inevitable) and on rebuying Truman Show. Hopefully Face/Off isn't too far off.

Anybody know what else is going to be on the Truman Show SE? I know that there's an enormous amount of deleted footage, mostly pseudo documentary footage like we saw at the beginning of the movie. I think they even put together a show around the time of release that played on sci-fi or some channel. Like a making of Truman Show special. Anyone know if all this stuff will be included?

I can't believe all the hoopla in here. Currently Paramount is probably one of the lamest studios on the market.

Just a suggestion...how about they move up and restore and release the two missing Bertolucci films 1900 and The Conformist. The European branches of MGM are releasing an UNCUT double disc of 1900...could that be a hint...wake up!!!

Or perhaps they should make the effort to clear out the rights mess with Miramax regarding Kieslowski's The Double life of Veronique. Really, I am not sure who's in charge with marketing at Paramount Home Video...but the person is clearly off!

Regards,
Pro-B

Good news. Definitely gonna grab Truman Show and Tommy Boy, but Witness and Clueless (depinding on supplements) could be good.
