The new cover art for Nerds II isn't bad, far better then the new Nerds I art IMO.

I can't wait to listen to the commentary track and to re-watch Nerds IV for the first time in a long time.

How is the pilot? Does it have any of the original cast members, or even characters?
It's mind-blowingly awful. I was surprised by how good the picture quality was though, especially since it was made in 1991.

The four main characters are Lewis, Gilbert, Wormser and Booger. The first three are played by a bunch of no-names that you've never heard of and Booger is played by Robbie "Cousin Oliver" Rist.

Words cannot describe how awful it is. It's a Fox production (obviously) and I assume that the Fox network ordered it as a pilot for their own network and it's plain to see how they would have watched this pilot in '91 and said "if we're gonna do 'Nerds' on TV we need the original cast".

It's too bad it didn't stay the "We've Got Bush" edition. I didn't know they changed it until today.
Slipcovers are just another layer of security, and by putting the sticker there, it actually adds yet another layer of security since they usually keep the slipcover stuck to the dvd case, so it can deter more theft. I agree with you though, I hate it too.

Fox is lame for switching the subtitle, they still have no balls or brains.

Picked up the boxset at Wal-Mart thanks to a poster here. Best Buy did not have it, and no location in a 100 mile search did either. So far ive only watched the extras on the first movie....and there pretty good. The documentry was petty interesting and the pilot....damn...was a piece of crap. I could actually see the 'house' outside the window move as its a friggin piece of paper.

No Gilbert, No Takashi, No Goodman, No Cromwell. It does look as if they talk about Edwards, as there are clips and photos shown, but he's not participating. It is over 38 minutes though.
What? No Donald Gibb?!? Now that just sucks.

How is the transfer of the first movie compared to the old disc?

The box set seems like a decent deal but I don't know if I can live with actually owning Nerds 3 and 4.

I really liked the documentary and it was fun to see nerds II for the first time in at least 10 years. I could have lived without the inclusion of III and IV though. Not a bad way to spend 20 bucks.

Look at it this way - so you don't necessarily want 3 & 4, but for only about $5 more you're still getting 2, which was a decent movie. That alone should be worth the extra cost, even if you never end up watching 3 or 4. To me it was a no brainer.

Hey owners of the box set, check your actual disc art on Revenge of the nerds panty raid edition. In my set the slim case says "Panty Raid Edition" on the cover, but my actual disc says "We've Got Bush" edition.

ROTN 2 is listed as widescreen, but not anamorphic, whereas on the double feature disc both were anamorphic. I really hope this is a misprint. Can anyone confirm?

I just thought of this, was the director in the same room, with the other guys, during the commentary? I don't really remember them interacting with him. Usually it's a dead giveaway on others, but with this one, if the director was edited in, they did a pretty good job, I think.

I wish I could watch this but I can't find the box set anywhere
Anyone have any luck in Manhattan? The Best Buys and Circuit Citys don't have it.

It's the exact same copy as the doube feature set. Nothing added nothing removed. The trailer is on there for Nerds 2 and Porky's 2 though it is not listed on the packaging.

Between the commentary and the documentary I have a newfound respect for this movie. I never would have guess that the movie had so much stuff ad libbed, and pretty much all the good stuff was created by the actors themselves.

As for the pilot, TV Booger was not nearly as cool and was really annoying. Was this supposed to be some Saturday Morning garbage or what?

The woman who played Betty still looks good.

This is not the first time Walmart carried box sets that BB & CC did not carry. A few weeks ago Walmart carried the Infernal Affairs box set and BB/CC did not have it. Walmart is funny sometimes with their new releases...

Has anybody seen the boxset in Canada? I have checked Future Shop and Best Buy and they only seem to have Revenge of the Nerds I in stock.

If I am correct shouldn't the kid who played Oliver on The Brady Bunch be close to if not OVER 40 years old? And he was playing a college kid?

I went to Future Shop, Best Buy, HMV and Wal-mart looking for this. No one had it. Took a last chance effort and went to zellers, where I found it on release day for $30. CDPLUS in my mall also had it but for $40.

Yeah but the pilot was made 16 years ago. According to Wikipedia he was born in 1964 which would make him only 27 when the pilot was made.

I saw it the same way you did, bro.

BTW, I got it at Kmart, it was $16.99 with the Fox coupon from the Bargain thread.

Is this boxset another 'instant OOP' thing? I was at BB last week and swear I saw it but didn't pick it up.
And to confirm, the RotN SE/We've Got Panty Raid edition, is the same disk that's in the boxset?
