OK, I found this at Virgin Megastore today, and decided to pick it up as I didn't see it in any of the ads next week. Anyway, so here's the skinny on the set:

Part I is still edited when Lewis finds the house. It does look like they cleaned up the transfer a bit, with specks and dirt removed from the previous version. So it does at least look better. There are six deleted scenes, and commentary by Director Jeff Kanew, Robert Carradine (Lewis), Timothy Busfield (Poindexter), and Curtis Armstrong (Booger). And the pilot really looks awful. No doubt why it wasn't picked up...

Part II is the exact same as on the double feature set. In fact, it has the same Disc ID as the older disc, and the date stamp is from 2000.

III and IV are both Full Frame as expected, Single layer discs, and each feature a trailer. IV also contains a alternate take of one scene that was originally 3-D. I guess they filmed it once with 3-D in mind, and once without.

Overall a nice set, and nice to have 6 days in advance

Revenge of the Nerd IV was originally shown on FOX during their mid-90s "3-D Week" promotions. I can't believe I remember that

Don't feel too bad. I remember that, too. You had to get the little kit from 7/Eleven, I believe with the smell-o-vision for Married...with Children.

Here's who's in the featurette:

Robert Carradine (Lewis)
Timothy Busfield (Poindexter)
Curtis Armstrong (Booger)
Jeff Kanew (Director)
Ted McGinley (Stan Gable)
Julia Montgomery (Betty Childs)
Andrew Cassese (Wormser)
Larry B. Scott (Lamar)

No Gilbert, No Takashi, No Goodman, No Cromwell. It does look as if they talk about Edwards, as there are clips and photos shown, but he's not participating. It is over 38 minutes though.

awesome. Too bad about Anthony Edwards though. guess he's trying to pretend that he was never in this movie.
Weird that Takashi isn't in it - Didn't that actor recently do special features for a Shout Factory TV show release?

Some people forget where they come from and never look back. It is a shame that some people take life and things like this too serious.

Since the box set is slimcases, does the single movie come with a slipcover?

I remember reading somewhere (probably this thread) that it would have a slipcover.

Not the DVD inside the boxset if they are all slimcases though.

TheKing, how is the commentary track, I'm dying to listen to it.

I pre-ordered (or my friend did) off of Amazon and won't be getting it for a few days.

So, who all has this? I see the single movie is $14.99 while the boxset is $19.99. I may be tempted to get this since it's my favorite movie, but not sure if parts 2-4 are worth $5 even

I just picked up the box set at Walmart for $19.96, the first one alone was $14.96 so 5 bucks more you get 2-4, the set is definitely worth it! The single edition of #1 was in a regular dvd case, the set are all slimpacks...

I was checking EBAY, and it appears that the Double Feature disc still sells for $10 or more....which, would basically be a wash for me. I know it's OOP, but who really wants the Double Feature still?

Does the #1 in the slimpacks have the same cover as the single edition?

I have the double feature, and thought the second movie was just awful. The first is a classic.

Are there any reviews? I'd like some info in deciding if it's worth a double dip.

The thing that really swayed me into a purchase was the SE has the pilot of the TV series they wanted to do....Cool Extra!

How is the pilot? Does it have any of the original cast members, or even characters?

I looked for this at Best Buy but they didn't have the collection (single only). Not available for in-store pick-up online, either.

Yeah, not a great Nerds II cover, but I guess it might have been at least kind of nice if they had done them all with the "between the legs" thing like the front cover of the box, then it would at least be a recurring thing.

Bah! What is with the whole thing of needing to put a sticker on top of the UPC? I just have to get out my Goof Off every time and remove it...can't the studios get it right on the art itself?

It's too bad it didn't stay the "We've Got Bush" edition. I didn't know they changed it until today.

Yeah, I wasn't suprised with the change, I would have been shocked if it did actually stay!

I bought the boxset today. It's ironic that the best movie, has the worst cover art. I found the commentary very enjoyable. Busfield's story about how he got the Poindexter laugh/scream, made me laugh like crazy.
