Yep, Lynch himself denied this rumor yesterday or the night before.
Also, just an FYI for Mike Lowery, the title is Darkened Room, not Darkend Room. I asked Lynch about this and he was confused why I thought it was misspelled like that. We ended up deciding that the web guy just mistyped the title.

So basically, the DVD is still in limbo with no date in site and no explanation given, correct? Sounds like Universal's deal with Legend a few years back.

Well, somebody somewhere doesn't know what they're talking about.

Not sure if you've heard the buzz around the 'Net today, but that news about Lynch getting (re)involved with the Dune - Extended DVD is being highly questioned due to Lynch himself supposedly denying this "news" on his on-line chat just yesterday.

I'm not surprised he's denying it. Lynch is notorious for backing away from any kind of publicity related to his films. Look at what happened to Criterion's original plans to release Eraserhead on DVD. I'm sure debate will rage around the Net. All I can tell you is that my information came directly from Universal.
Frankly, the less people bug Lynch about it, the more likely the new cut will happen. Fans just need to be patient.
