I thought the Terminator DVD-14 was cool. Innovative, in fact. But I will agree that you have to treat them with care.

My Uncle owns one of the oldest video rental stores here in NY state, he has told me numerous times that the dual sided discs he has have to be replaced at a much faster rate than his single sided discs.
No surprises there. People treat rentals like total shit. I've rented relatively new releases that are scratched to hell. Those of you from the game cartridge renting days know what I'm talking about. Jesus. Most people treat this stuff like crap.

Anyway, I'm surprised they'd release Casino as a DVD-18 or whatever, it seems to be a rare format. I'm surprised they'd bother.

Is anyone sure that the Canadian release is actually 2 discs (besides the online retailers stating such)? I'd like to know that before I pre-order from a Canadian retailer.

dvdsoon.com seems to have pretty accurate specs. I bought Orgazmo from them a month or so ago and it was a 2 disc set when the US version was a 1 disc (double sided). I emailed dvdsoon.com and they said that the Canadian version of Casino is indeed a 2 disc set. I am ordering it today.

You got a link to the Casino SE on DVD Soon? I can only find the old discontinued one on there.

Mind you, Amazon.com just put all their customer databases together. I just ordered from Amazon.co.UK earlier today and here's Amazon.ca carrying Casino:

http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASI...858254-8896330

No info on the no. of discs though...

For some reason the title is not showing up when you do a regular search. I was able to get to the page because I purchased a couple of weeks ago and I have the link in my order confirmation. The link is

http://www.dvdsoon.com:80/show-title...xml?uid=218569

It is a 2 disc single sided set. I can not wait to get this. I sold my old copy for $40 a couple of months ago.

Thanks for the link, it looks like they have the best price on the Canadian 2 disc set. The bad thing is that it might have French on the cover, but I rather have that than a two sided single disc from the US.

Lately a lot of the Canadian Releases have double sided art, one side has mostly English with a little bit of French, and the other side which is mostly French with a little bit of English. So when you get the dvd if the cover has mostly French, just flip it and have the "English" side up. Its not that big of a deal. If it is a big deal to you then just scan a copy of the US versions cover and print it and use that. I personally don't care about the little bit of French. I personally hate dual sided discs and would take 2 discs over a dual sided disc any day of the week.

A 2-SIDED INSERT??? Horrors! That's just awful! With printing on both sides, they're bound to get messed up. I'll wait until they put out one with two separate inserts, and I'll just use the one I want.

I picked up the SE earlier today and am very happy with it. But, I just looked at the set being released in the UK and saw that they split the extras and film over two discs. Would have been nice for them to do the same for the R1 release. Now here's the weird bit, AmazonUK is partnering Casino 10th anniv DVD with wait for it...White Chicks! How in the world could anyone even think of these two films in the same head at the same time let alone, put them together for sale as if they compliment each other color me

Be forwarned that DVDsoon takes ages, generally, to ship your order for you. Do an online search for them and read the tales....even here on DVDtalk in the "Store" section. I ordered for them once and it took 3 months to get my order. Also, they do not currently have the best price on the Canadian 2 disc. There price is $22.10.

Cinemaclock.com, the link I posted above, is selling it for $17.94. Here is a direct link.

That's sometimes the case for back orders but pre-orders generally ship on time.

What are the shipping rates to the US? I can't find anything about shipping for outside of Canada on that site.

I preordered from DVDsoon and it was free shipping to the US. Don't know if that offer is still going.

I have ordered from dvdsoon many times and have had no problems at all. I find them to be faster than DDD sometimes.

animatedude,If I had to choose between the two I'd probably go with the Canadian for the NTSC as opposed to the UK with PAL. but that's just me.
