i don't have parkinsons...and i want two disc....just doesn't take a beating the same way...plus no disc art.....I would rather have a commentary than two disc though.

dvdsoon is showing Casino 10th Anniversary Edition as a 2 disc set. I wonder if this is the same situation as the current Orgazmo disc which is also a Universal Film in the US and Alliance film in Canada. Orgazmo is a dual layer dual sided disc in the US and a dual layer 2 disc set in Canada. I recently purchased the 2 disc set and am very happy. All of my friends are now pissed that they got dual sided shwag. If the US release of Casino is indeed dual sided which most American sites are showing it as then I will definitely be spending my money on the O' Canada 2 disc version.

i'd send my money north for two disc....someone get some confirmation on this and a low low price for canada

Universal has never fucked up a release. You all don't have enought faith....

A two disc would be awesome!

It's better to have 2 DVD-9 with full disc artwork than to have 1 DVD-18 that can get greasy fingerprints easily. |

releasing Casino on a dual sided disc is a disgrace to Scorsese.

I personally could care less if it's DVD-18 or two DVD-9s... it's all the same to me. |
I'm buying this BECAUSE it's a 2-sided disc.
You obviously have never owned a $100 OOP double-sided DVD. |
So, has anyone confirmed whether or not the US release is going to be dual sided? Every US retailer lists it as 1 disc but some say dual layered dual sided and other websites say just dual layered? From the pics posted at dvdanswers it says on the menu screenshot to flip disc over for special features. So I am confused? If the US release is just a 1 disc single sided then I will get it in the US, if it is a dual sided single disc then I am sending my money to Canada to get the 2 disc version. Could someone please confirm whether or not the US version is indeed dual sided.

I have TWO actually- Little Shop of Horrors and This Is Spinal Tap. And I didn't pay $100 for either of them. :) |

The region 1 Canadian release will be a 2 disc set as well, buy I want to know if the US release will be 1 disc dual sided. |
Is the US region 1 release a 2 disc or dual sided? Can anyone confirm this info? I know that the Canadian version will be a 2 disc set, so I want to know if I need to place my order with dvdsoon for the Canadian version or go with a US retailer if the US version is a 2 disc.

Has anyone confirmd that the US release will be dual sided? If it is I am going to place my order with dvdsoon really soon.

It always great to read these threads. I keep forgetting that there are actually consumers that want 2 discs when they can have one.
Give me DVD-18 everyday and Sunday. Or, Why not spread Casino on 4 discs and have pictures of all the main actors on them? Why stop at 2? You'll get lots of pretty artwork then. The best way to keep greasy fingerprints off of the disc? Don't let greasy fingers touch them! ;) |

The best way to keep greasy fingerprints off of the disc? Don't let greasy fingers touch them! ;) First off, one of my family members has Parkinsons Disease, and it is hard for him to grip anything firmly, so discs that only have one readable side fair a lot better. My Uncle owns one of the oldest video rental stores here in NY state, he has told me numerous times that the dual sided discs he has have to be replaced at a much faster rate than his single sided discs. So if you want a disc that can be scratched or damaged easier then so be it. If you want a disc that has no disc art then so be it. I know you can say be careful with the disc and nothing will happen to it. Well, that is why they call it accidents, accidents happen even if you are the most careful person in the world. So go ahead buy a dvd that is inferior in many different ways. You are one of the reasons why studios feel it is necessary to make dual sided discs. |

Everyone complained and moaned before Schindler's List came out. After it came out? I never heard one complaint. Now, if the problem is having to flip the movie, that is a valid argument, but one disc vs two??? I just don't see it the issue. A person who can't help but put fingerprints on their DVDs are going to whether it is 2 sided or one. I don't mind people having an preference but the way people spout off as if it is the accepted, do it our way or no buy, confuses me. |

I personally prefer single sided discs. You don't. I will be buying my Casino AE DVD through Canada so I can get the 2 disc set. |
