Sounds like a great DVD, sadly, the movie has not aged well. Used to love it, now it just feels lame...

Ditto!

It looks like they tried to make the cover resemble the current Star Wars DVD ones.

That's exactly what I thought.

If sales are great for this release, I wonder if Brooks will turn Yogurt's "Spaceballs II: The Search for More Money" joke into a reality...

Awhile ago I heard that Brooks was VERY interested in doing a sequel based on the prequels. I hope that comes through. Think of all the material he can use. I'm glady double dipping on this as well.

that cover is great! I'm not one for big head covers, but the take on the Star Wars covers is classic.

I'm in for this one. Guess I will take the old version to Blockbuster to trade in.

double-dipping makes me grind my teeth, but at least it gets a good anamorphic release, sweet.

Definately worth a double-dip from me as well. There's been enough time between releases where I can justify spending another 15 bucks or so.

meh. Commentary, documentary, the John Candy thing, and an interview with Mel sound nice, the rest is fluff. I mean: costume gallery, art gallery, storyboards, quotes from the movie, and a trailer? Can you say, "stuff that'll probably never get watched once?"

Anyway, the first couple features are nice, but the anamorphic is what sells it for me.

That is what I was referring to . . . of course, I challenge you to show me a DVD that doesn't contain a handful of fluff features mixed in with the good ones.

There was a point when the sequel being discussed was "Spaceballs III: The Search for Spaceballs II". I always liked that joke.

I'll probably double-dip if I can find it for 15 bucks. I'm still disappointed that the cover doesn't say "Spaceballs: The DVD". That's twice now they've failed to capitalize on that joke.

I agree. I hardly ever watch that stuff. I'm just not that into the artsy stuff.

But would have actually been cool for the Star Wars discs, is to include a the entire "The Art of Star Wars" volume for each movie, either as a regular DVD feature or at the very least a DVD-ROM feature.
