Nah, DVDavocado doesn't have them either, but rumor has it that DVDalmondjoy has them.

LivingINClip 04-26-05 11:19 PM

Is it true? And does anyone actually have the cover arts?

metaridley 04-27-05 01:23 PM

I don't know how much longer I can wait for these, especially since I am really looking forward to them and was expecting a release before Batman Begins.

moonraker 04-27-05 02:12 PM

Batman: 9.7/10
Batman Returns: 9.5/10
Batman Forever: 3.5/10
Batman & Robin: 0.5/10

Looking at those mock-ups, I think we can only hope that each film's cover will simply be a rendition of the Bat-symbol. The gold symbol on the first one would be great, but the second one I hope doesn't have "The Bat, The Cat, and The Penguin". I hated that look. THe third one looks nice, and the fourth one is dead to me.

Regardless, though, these purchases are no-brainers for me. Two discs with solid transfers would be great. I'll take some promo stuff on the first one b/c if I remember correctly that thing was a hype-machine and it would be interesting to see some of that stuff again.

Hurry up, WB. Get these things out!

Artman 04-27-05 02:16 PM

Took the leap of faith and traded in Batman/Returns...These better come out as planned! Last ones I traded in anticipating SE's were Crimson Tide and Enemy of the State. :(

These are the pics on DVD Aficionado:

Look similar to the ones posted on Batman on Film earlier this year. The final product, I believe, will look similar.

Artman 04-27-05 05:23 PM

Hmm.. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they will simply present the old artwork slightly altered a bit (like Goodfellas SE) or create new artwork (Shawshank SE).

makes sense but remember what it says:

NOT ANNOUNCED, Picture represents movie poster or promo material.

DIVX Rulz 04-27-05 07:38 PM

I really like the simple batman shields as the cover (I hope they do the same for Superman DVD re-release). But what I dont understand is why dont they use the Batman shield with snow on it for Batman Returns instead of the one with the top of his head, just my 2 cents

JZ1276 04-28-05 02:07 AM

i currently have the batman boxed set. Is it qorth selling it and buying the new SE's? Are they going to make a new boxed set or sell them all separetely?

I like this scale better-

Batman: Lobster
Batman Returns: Shrimp
Batman Forever: Rancid Fish
Batman & Robin: Toilet Sub

I don't really trust those, outside of possibly the first one. The sequels are all just posters thrown up there.

raven56706 04-28-05 10:16 AM

Does anyone know if the SE will include the trailers of the movies

Lovitz 04-28-05 12:13 PM

I hope it's sooner than October. We've all been waiting YEARS for these SE's.

Father Karras 04-28-05 01:30 PM

I also hope it is sooner than October but this is starting to appear less and less likely. If WB wanted to get these SE released in mid-June to coincide with the theatrical release of Batman Begins I think we probably would have had an official announcement/confirmation by now. Maybe the rumoured new cut of Batman Forever is taking longer to put together than expected.

metaridley 04-28-05 03:42 PM

If that is the case, then Joel Schumacher's "Redemption Cut" had better be good.

Skoobooz 07-10-05 03:04 PM

It seems that all four Batman films, as well as the Batman Legacy collection, have gone out of print, most likely in preparation for the upcoming special editions. Just another sign that these are coming soon.

Skoobooz 07-10-05 03:07 PM

...but, after another check, it seems that Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is still in print. Although there haven't been strong indicators of a special edition for this, I still hope that there may be one to coincide with the four live action Batman movies.

The Monkees 07-10-05 05:35 PM

My Blockbuster carries all of the Batman films for sale. I have never had a problem finding these anywhere. My 2 local FYEs also carry them for sale, brand new

Skoobooz 07-10-05 06:02 PM

I'm not saying they're hard to find or even will be after they go OOP (especially with the upcoming SEs). However, look at this thread:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...=404315&page=4

It's just another indication that the SEs are really coming soon now. Studios often put their old releases OOP when a new edition comes along.

And I'm not saying that stores will even be pulling these off the shelves; WB just won't be making any more.

Fincher Fan 07-11-05 03:33 AM

That Batman Returns mockup looks like crap. Sorry.
