Surprised no one bumped this thread to discuss the releases. It only took me one day to watch all 3 films (never saw any) and I loved them. I'll listen to the commentaries one day.
Anyhow, there are covers up on Amazon for Nightmare Alley and House of Bamboo (but not Street with no Name and Kiss of Death):

Awesome covers. I expect I'll love this wave as much as the first.

Watched Laura last night... Enjoyed it, but didn't think it was as great as it's reputation... A/V quality is quite good. Haven't gotten around to the other two yet.
I'm more than likely skipping House of Bamboo from the next wave... Thought the preview for it on the Pickup on South Street CC looked pretty bad. I do find it interesting that it's in color and shot CinemaScope.

I hadn't heard about it before, but I was pretty sure that Kiss of Death was announced in the little ad that came with the first wave DVDs. It said 'Coming in June' and then said (if I recall correctly; I may not): 'Nightmare Alley, House of Bamboo, Kiss of Death'. It struck me as odd that Street With No Name wasn't listed. I figured that, like the first wave, there would be 3 DVDs released, so maybe 'Street' was delayed. Oddly, though, 'Kiss' is shown on Amazon as being released in October by Anchor Bay: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...v=glance&s=dvd
dvdaf lists 'Kiss' as a fox noir release coming out in June, however.
Maybe someone can clarify this? I threw out the ad thing, so I can't confirm.

Er, that's probably not going to happen for a while. I don't have a digicam.
But it's a traditional blue longbox with the 3 film posters and the words "Three classic films. First time on DVD!".
On the back it lists all the special features.

So, now I am pretty confused over the status of Kiss of Death.

Now DVDaf moved Kiss of Death's status to 'not announced', whereas before it had a definite release date. I suspect Fox goofed with that and substituted it with 'Street with no Name'. Kiss may be released in a later wave, not the June one.

Considering the b-list catalog flushing that Fox has started with Anchor Bay (i.e. Nuns on the Run, Dutch, etc.), I wonder if this is actually a mistaken listing for the 1995 Caruso/Cage version? Time will tell. Of course, Fox has already put out the remake, but who's ever heard of a movie getting a rerelease?

Any speculation for wave 4 titles? Here's some of my guesses:
Where The Sidewalk Ends (1950) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043132/
The House on 92nd Street (1945) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037795/
Cry Of The City (1948) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040257/
Fallen Angel (1945) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037691/
Also, do you think Fox might revoke Criterions license for Night & The City and Pickup On South Street once it expires so that they can release it under their own Fox Noir banner???
