I've pre-ordered House of Bamboo and Panic on the Streets for less than CAN$13 each on amazon.ca but Laura wasn't not up yet.

I also wish they had done a box set like Warners. At least these discs aren't barebones like the Universal Noir. I am hoping for nice transfers from Fox as well.

Wish Fox would add Radio Shows as a Bonus Feature like Warners do.

Laura was done on the Lux Radio Theatre.
Call Northside 77 was done on Screen Director's Playhouse.

That would be great. I just want to go on record and say that I hate the interface at the fox site. I can't figure out where they have these listed.

FYI, just got the first three and this "collection" is numbered on the spine at the top. Laura is '01', Call Northside 777 is '02', and Panic in the Streets is '03'.

So if you don't want holes in your collection, you have to buy them all.

For most of us I don't think that'd be a problem regardless of whether or not they're numbered. I know I can't wait for these!

It's listed as 3/15 but I think that is incorrect. Laura replaced House of Bamboo in the 1st wave of releases. I believe that House of Bamboo will be pushed back to 6/15.

Yeah, I think first wave is just Laura, Call Northside and Panic in the Streets. Unfortunate that we'll have to wait on Nightmare Alley, really wanted to see that one.

actually...Fox has never said they were pulling the title...initially Laura was going to be a Fox Studio Classics title...they moved it over to the film noir line....but they never pulled house of bamboo. Amazon still list it for that day...so does dvdaff...so does dvdsoon...

I thought it was the bits who had reported that it would still be coming the same day as the others, but I can't find the link. Anyone provide a link for this, or news of a cancelation? I'll change the OP when i get some info

But, THE LODGER!!!! Can't wait for that one.

CANADIANS NOTE: There are also rumblings in that thread that Laura will not be available in Canada due to certain rights issues. Amazon.ca has not placed it up. My local store still has it for pre-order though so we will have to see.

The Classic Comedies Collection, sadly, seems to not have a Canadian release due to similar rights issues on a film in the set. Let's hope that all this is resolved and us canucks can share in these great classics.

I don't care, I already have all 3. Interesting that Fox would send Canadian sites review copies of Laura anyway.

And about House of Bamboo, well I've been saying it would be in the 2nd wave for weeks.

You should know that nobody listens to people from Quebec.

Dvdsoon has them currently at CA$9.98 each and Laura has also appeared. If you use the following coupon; TIMESMA05 you will cut 10% of the price everytime you order (valid till April).

Trustworthy, yes. Cheap, definitely. Fast, efficient, communicative, and careful shippers? Not so much.

Too bad about Bamboo... that title is going to hold up my DVDEmpire order for months.

Oh well, plenty to watch... I'll probably make it 2 months without those titles.
