How was the disk packaged? Better than the mailer used to return the old disk, I hope.

It had some paper wrapping and a
cardboard container.

So they actually made the text smaller too, huh? Awesome. I was hoping they would, but I figured that they wouldn't spend the extra effort to.

Got my replacement today - packaging was good, CD jewel case sized thick cardboard mailer, 2 wads of heavy packing paper and the disc was in it's own paper sleeve.

Wonder how they marked the disc itself to denote the new version? D191757V4 02 around the hole on the side read by your player. Maybe the V4?

Got my disc today, too. The new font is a much more manageable size, as mentioned above. Thank you Dreamworks for listening.

So... did they recall the ones in stores? Are those going to be replaced with the new ones?

No screencaps yet? C'mon lazy butts.

I thought it was going to be easier to wait for the stores to get the new version, but I haven't seen any of them hit yet. (Suncoast, BB, DVDPlanet) Anyone finding them in the stores ?

Got my replacement disk today as well. It was only one week after I got the e-mail saying they received the original disk. The subtitles are only slightly smaller, but they're very well done and easy to read in any scene. Kudos to Dreamworks for the fast response.

If there wasn't a recall, it'll take time for the stores to run out of inventory.

If it's anything like the Back to the Future problem, it'd be faster to buy now and send away for the replacement.

ack...

They're still to high up in the frame - they could have easily dropped them down an entire line. Almost every other subtitled film I've seen has the subtitles at the very bottom edge of the image. Why not this one?

Personally, I find this situation irritating. I don't want to purchase a defective copy knowing I'll have to send it back to Dreamworks. However, I haven't seen this "V4" version in a store yet. The proper thing to do would be to recall the initial pressings.

As do I, Mr. Jenkins. But I am leaning in the direction of doing just that since who knows how long it will take to get the corrected copies in the stores?

Still waiting ... no email confirmation either ... I think it's because I'm the one who rubbed their noses in the sh$t with my review...."that damn kid, we're not sending him his replacement copy!"
