My favorite would have to be my Golden Girls - The Complete First Season!

this would probably be mine answer as well. Although I just paid 29.99 for it when it came out. I had no idea it would jump up so much in price. This is actually the case with all my OOP discs. I just bought them for normal price when they came out and I got lucky

Liquid Sky
Swamp Thing (unrated)
etc.

It actually went out of print a few years ago, roughly a year or two after it came out. Since then, though, a lot of people have said that Best Buy got an exclusive deal with Fox putting certain OOP two-discs back in print to sell only at Best Buy. I've never been totally clear on the details, but I know the titles in question were 'Fight Club', 'Moulin Rouge', 'The Abyss', and maybe one or two others. (But not 'Big Trouble in Little China'.)

Yup, me too. I see The Blues Brothers going for about $50, and I think "hmm, I've watched this once in the 3 years I've owned it. Bye, bye"

Is this out of print now? I still see this set for sale in DVD stores in Japan, but maybe it's just remaining stock? Great set, at any rate.

I'm going to go with the KILL BILL Vol. 1 Japanese box set. It was limited, and I'm assuming its OOP at this point (I didn't see it in Japan stores at all now, but Vol 2 boxes were everywhere).

At the end of page 1 I said I coveted my boss' copy of Seven Samurai first pressing which I found for him in his collection. Guess what he gave me for Christmas? "Holy $@%#!" was what came out of my mouth when I opened it. Best. Boss. EVER! I guess I'll also add Fight Club SE 2 disc and my Salival box set (had no clue it was worth so much now).

This Is Spinal Tap(Criterion)

It's a great film. It's one of the first DVDs I ever bought. And it's worth the most by far of any of my OOP discs(at least going by the eBay prices).

If the Manhunter Japanese Region 2 DVD with the original theatrical cut is now OOP, I'll rank that a close second.

The LOTR EE's are OOP already? Wow, glad I got one last week. Just in time.

My Universal discs of BRAZIL and XANADU. BRAZIL because it's a delightfully great head trip movie, and XANADU because it's pure cheesy goodness (and has some damn good songs to boot). Plus my RAMBO TRILOGY: SE (with the kickass metal case), BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA: SE, and my 2-disc SE of JEEPERS CREEPERS.

EDIT: More include my DEAD ZONE pilot DVD, GHOSTBUSTERS: CE, original release of THE IRON GIANT, MANHUNTER: 121 Minute Exclusive Theatrical/Director's Version, the Goodtimes releases of NIGHTHAWKS (in crappy full frame but has the unedited soundtrack) and PROBLEM CHILD, THE PUNISHER (Dolph Lundgren version), my Anchor Bay version of REPO MAN, RETURN OF THE PINK PANTHER, TALES FROM THE HOOD, and ZOMBIE LAKE.

I'm not sure why people are saying "Fight Club" 2-disc when they are readily available at Best Buy (saw many just today). It can't be OOP if they are so easily had and thus not rare.

Yes, the Fight Club DVD is a Best Buy exclusive, if I remember correctly.

Also, there is no correlation to a DVD being OOP and rarity. In fact, some go OOP because there are too many in stores and none are selling!

Try finding it online at someplace other than Best Buy. Best Buy seems to be the only place that it is available.
