Actually, I think it's because it's on it's own little order page thing. Once it's on timelife's regular website product listing where you can search for it, it should able to be purchased using coupons and ********/fatwallet.

If you read my entire post, some claimed they have been charged.

I'm just going by what I've read. I can't say yes or no for sure myself.

I am, by no means, complaining, but I was hoping for more than 3 JMS (J. Michael Straczynski) commentaries. I'm sure there will be some pleasant surprises on the other commentaries, but I guess I'm just greedy!

Steelbooks? Yes!

I'm even happier that I pre-ordered this baby. Even if it'll set me back a little more than I want to, I was a huge Ghostbusters fan as a kid so I'm looking forward to reliving my youth by marathoning the series in order.

Just got a postcard from Timelife saying this:

"Thank you for your order. Due to an unexpected delay, the estimated ship date for THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS is Oct. 05, 2008."

I thought it wasn't supposed to be out till Nov?

It's shipping November 15th, and not a moment sooner. The guy in charge of home video at TL is going to go nuts on the customer service dept. for sending out these cards with the wrong info.

For those interested, I posted some screen shots last night of the Visual Commentary Tracks (part of the extras on this set) over at TVShowsOnDVD:

Interesting. That is a truly unique way of doing the commentaries. I am unsure how much value it will add above a "normal" audio commentary. Do I really need to see 4 old guys with beards talking about the show? Not that I have anything against old guys with beards, but I'm not sure how much this will add. I'll chime in again after I watch a few.

Wow. Looks amazing.

I can't wait to delete my horrible downloaded versions. Hopefully there will be no editing surprises in the episodes.

Holy crap. They canceled my order.

It says "Did not accept delay notice"

What in the world? I got some stupid cards in the mail, but I ignored them. Ugh...

I don't suppose there's still at 25% off coupon?

Same thing happened to me. I sent them an email asking them to reinstate the order at the price I ordered it at in August. Haven't heard back yet. I know code AFPUMPKIN is out there. 20% off if I remeber correctly. Not quite as good a deal but if they tell me I can't have the order back at the old price I may have to use this. Still pissed that they cancelled my preorder though so I'm going to to put a decent arguement if they tell me I'll have to reorder.

What does "BACKORDERED" mean on the Time Life website? Is it really backordered or does it just say that because the DVD isn't out yet? And if it is how long can I expect to wait?

I've got an apologetic email saying that they've pushed it back. Now my order status says "Expected to ship on November 25".

As mentioned above, that means you got upgraded to free express shipping. Since standard takes 2 weeks, you may get your set sooner than when it was shipping on the 15th.

I checked my order status today and it says that my order was suspended and to contact customer service. Has anybody else gotten this? I've sent them an email since it's too late to call them but this is really annoying seeing as how the set it supposed to ship in a few days.
