I am glad I got this one now. I just wish it was here already. I am jealous. Thanks for the pics to tide me over though.

darmok 11-01-05 08:58 AM

picked up a set this morning. it's a heavy set (with all those goodies inside!) the size of the set reminds me of the salt&pepper Seinfeld box, but the cardboard construction is not as sturdy. can't wait to get home tonight to rip it open!

DJ_Longfellow 11-01-05 09:14 AM

Well, I have to decide now....I was yes, no, now maybe. I still think the stuff will collect dust for me. Maybe if I was a coffee drinker.

Michael T Hudson 11-01-05 09:54 AM

Does anyone know how limited the gift set is?

darmok 11-01-05 10:00 AM

i wouldn't wait too long. BB exclusives can dry up overnight, or can be around for a short (few months?) while. but eventually they sell out.

steebo777 11-01-05 10:07 AM

My BB only had the minimum amount per store, which was 10. By the time I got there at 10am, there was 2 left.

Michael T Hudson 11-01-05 10:32 AM

That sucks I get off work at 5:30 :(

Ravenous 11-01-05 11:02 AM

Got it for $17.99

After including McDs Bucks of course

boss429 11-01-05 11:22 AM

My Best Buy had a big cardboard display with tons of gift sets... probably 50 or more, but it seemed like everyone in the check out line had a set under their arm. I just got the disc because I didn't want that other junk.

DJ_Longfellow 11-01-05 11:22 AM

My Best Buy had probably 100 of the Office Space Gift Sets....there was a whole display of them.

I broke down and bought it. However, I think I'm going to trade with a fellow DVDtalker for one and return mine.

have any pics of the box itself? the damage? i am having mine sent as well and now worried...

why couldn't there be more extras and a damn commentary. this seems like such a feeble Special Edition it's almost worth boycotting...but i won't.

Just a reminder for those looking for a full-sized Rio Red Swingline, Sam's Club carries them for around $10.

Matt 11-01-05 12:10 PM

. . .And there's a $5 mail-in rebate for the red Swingline included in a booklet in the new DVD, too.

mcharro3 11-01-05 12:34 PM

Anybody know if the DVD inside the Canadian gift set has a bilingual cover? It's a deal breaker for me, so any help is appreciated!

Damed 11-01-05 01:06 PM

both Walmarts in my area had only Fool Screen versions in stock. I hate that.

DJ_Longfellow 11-01-05 01:11 PM

If anyone cannot find one from Best Buy, hit me up....I have an extra, but I will return it to the store tomorrow. PM me if you want it.

Gizmo 11-01-05 01:20 PM

My Best Buy had atleast 80 of these boxsets...shouldn't be tough to find.

L Chabert Lover 11-01-05 01:39 PM

I opted for just the DVD. As I had no use for the novelty extras in The Big Lebowski gift set, the same applies here. I got my 16x9 widescreen copy this morning at Target. $14.99, but for whatever reason, the full screen copies (which they had twice as many of) were priced at $13.72. That's a small difference, but what the hell is the point?

movieking 11-01-05 01:46 PM

The set is $11 more expensive than just the DVD here in Canada, so I am on the fence on whether or not to get it. What to do, what to do?

Big Worms 11-01-05 02:00 PM

Well I wasn't going to get the gift set, but my BB had it priced at 20.99 for RZ members. I went ahead and bought it.

By the way they also had tons of them so it won't be hard to find.

PJsig08 11-01-05 02:44 PM

My BB had a million of the gift sets, but like 5 of just the DVD, so when I got there, they were all gone. Either they greatly underestimated the normal DVD release, or just wanted to force everyone to buy the gift set...

GuessWho 11-01-05 02:53 PM

I just bought the movie.

I have a real red Swingline stapler already.

wennma01 11-01-05 04:35 PM

i got this today at target and for some reason, the full screen version was $13.xx yet the widescreen was $14.xx. a dollar more is worth it for widescreen, but has anyone else seen anything like this?

I thought the same thing until I saw a big cardboard display dedicated to Office Space.

Legolas 11-01-05 06:38 PM

My BB had a ton of gift sets but the new title rack only had a handful of full screen titles which I almost picked up. I hope people were paying attention to which version they were buying.

I had to go to the regular aisles to find a widescreen version.
