I ordered from Amazon, as they seemed to pretty clearly indicate at all the various check out "checkpoints" that it was actually in stock. We'll see if that holds true through to my expected shipping date. |
I got mine yesterday 6058/11111.
No floaters (DDD) and I watched the first disc. No problems with the playback. |

I think what he meant was that the disc was okay - even though it was moving around inside the case when he received it.

I was sick of waiting for mine from DDD to arrive so I bought one from Borders today. I was hesitant to buy it because it felt like both discs were floaters. I bought it anyway. Disc 1 was loose and still in mint condition. I have never seen a floater like that before.

It can be very frustrating, since you tend to take it for granted that the item is in stock if it doesn't flag it in the shopping cart.

I ordered from Digitaleyes.net late Thursday night and got a shipping notice Friday morning.

With all the talk about people getting floaters and scratched discs, I went out to Border's today to pick one up, even though the one I ordered from DDD is on the way.
The Border's had three copies, and all of them rattled really bad when I shook them lightly. I went ahead and took one up to the counter and told them about the manufacturing/shipping problem and asked if I could open it in store, and if it was scratched, try another one. They said that was fine, so I went ahead and bought it and opened it right there. The first disc was laying upside down on top of the second disc, and it had some fairly superficial scratches that probably wouldn't affect playback. I then checked the second disc, and it was horrible. It looked like a sunburst or something, with big circular scratches all the way around it. I showed it to the cashier, and went back and grabbed their other two copies just in case. I opened the second one, and even though disc one was yet again a floater, there didn't appear to be any scratches on either disc. I'll be able to watch it tomorrow and hopefully there won't be any playback issues. |
I bought a second copy today, this one from Borders. No floaters....and it will make a great X-mas gift for some lucky dude or dudette.

i think the latter editions were packed more securely with no floaters. i saw two at Tower Records and neither floated, so i bought another and will trade/sell the other fine one.
do you think i should wait to trade/sell and perhaps get more anti? or would it not really matter? |

I might just check out Borders tomorrow (got a 20% off coupon anyway). Where is the film catagorized there, horror, cult or foreign? (I'm assuming horror?)

I work in a mom and pop video store and we had a copy of it on sale for $24.98 but employee's get stuff for the manufactuers cost, so I picked up the copy (9,789/11,111) for $15.98. I couldn't believe it was so cheap.
Haven't watched it yet, going to tomorrow night after seeing Saw II. No floaters for me by the way. |

Too bad there's no Tower near me. That's a good price. |
