Yep, just saw this on TVShowsonDVD.

I may pick up the Ewoks movies and the Droids series, but IIRC, the Ewoks cartoon was geared toward the young kiddies.

Fox have announced the release of the 2 Return Of The Jedi ewok spin off movies The Caravan Of Courage and The Battle For Endor for US DVD release this November:

With next month's release of the 'Holy Trilogy', it was inevitable that 20th Century Fox would soon announce the release of everything else Star Wars releated that had not yet made it to DVD. November 23rd will see the long-awaited release of the two Star Wars ewok spin off movies Caravan Of Courage and The Battle For Endor.

From what little detail Fox have supplied us with, it looks as if this will be a double-feature pack, with both movies in one set, have no extra features, and a very low SRP of $14.98.

Also announced for release on November 23rd are the 1980's Star Wars cartoon TV series Droids and Ewoks. We are yet to receive any further information regarding these two titles.
You can find our article here.

While they are not nearly as good as the trilogy I cant wait to pick up the two Ewok Movies, I can finally toss the VHS tape that I had them taped on! Probably pass on the two cartoon series.

I had heard these were going to be released, it's good to know a date. I will definitely pick up the Droids cartoon as I remember it not being too bad (then again, that was around 20 years ago). The Ewoks movies & cartoons are geared towards little kids but I have a 5 month old daughter that may appreciate these one day. With a Star Wars Geek for a dad and also an older brother in the same boat, it will be good for her to have these to join in the geekdom (or so I keep telling myself, I think it's just that I am an obsessive completist and NEED to have all the SW DVD's....even the Holiday Special )

Some Prequel defenders make the same case for the Original Trilogy.

I can't wait! I'm looking forward to sharing these with my kids. My 5 year old son loves Star Wars almost as much as his old man does.

Never saw these when they came out. (I know, I'm not as good a Star Wars geek as I want to be).
Since I have young kids, I'll be able to justify adding more SW stuff to our house to my wife!
Thanks for posting.

I don't get it - shouldn't the droids and ewok cartoons be on atleast 3 discs? I think their were 14 or 15 (counting the great heap special) droids eps and over 30 ewoks eps.

Sure the price is nice, but I guess they didn't put much work into them.

edit: I guess they'll just crunch them all on a double-sided disc. Hope the pic quality is ok...

No "Star Wars Holiday Special", No Sale!

It looks like the Ewoks and Droids cartoon DVDs are just two randomly selected episodes rather than season sets. That's pretty stupid.

Woah. Who said anything about 2 episodes each? I don't think so.

I'm sure there are more than 2 episodes... but the "double feature" on the cover sure is confusing. That doesn't really make much sense...

I assumed they'd just include the complete run of both shows. But now I'm not sure...

Lucas should just release the Holiday Special. Give all of the proceeds to charity or something...

Over at the Digital Bits..

"Star Wars: Animated Adventures - Droids will include select episodes of the original 1985 Droids animated series edited into two feature-length films - The Pirates and the Princess and Treasures of the Hidden Planet (both 86 minutes). Star Wars: Animated Adventures - Ewoks will also include select episodes of the original 1985-87 Ewoks animated series edited into two feature films - The Haunted Village (88 minutes) and Tales from the Endor Woods (89 minutes)."

So looks like it will be select episodes, but I'm all in for the double feature Ewok movies.

So the two Ewok movies were both originally for TV, and thus full-frame would be the original aspect ratio, correct?

Lame about the cartoons... Of course, for $10 (or hopefully $7 or $8) i'll still pick them up.

The Droids and Ewok news kind of blows...I was hoping they'd release complete series collections... now, The Ewok Adventure movies, I am definitely getting... I LOVED THEM as a kid... LOVED THEM. One of my more anticipated dvds of the year!
