I thought the original release wasn't too bad, why would they make this one?

...um... wild guess... but... um, money...?

It's probably just the OST, and in any case, unless it's got completely new and different extras, I'm keeping my R3 copy. Less audio tracks on that one so the picture is a bit better, I imagine.

The first two discs will most likely be the same as the first release. I guess the third disc will either be the soundtrack or new extras. I highly doubt this will be worth double-dipping. The first release was pretty packed with features and it had DTS. I really don't know what they could add to make me buy this.

I hope they'll do an extended version.

There were many great deleted/extended scenes that should have been in the movie - especially the extended Jack/Elizabeth segment on the deserted island.

Well, someone stole my copy, I know who it is but I will never get it back. I guess that I'll buy this if I get a good deal on it. If it isn't a good price hopefully the 2 disc will go down in price and I'll just pick that one up.

I enjoyed this movie a lot, but I really don't need for it to be any longer. In fact, even the version in the theaters could have been tightened up a bit, I thought.

Not every good movie needs to be longer. I blame Peter Jackson for making everybody think so.

Sigh! There seem to be waves after waves of extended, director's cut, unrated versions of various movies hitting the shore lately.

Not likely. Disney doesn't often remaster their titles if they've got an existing anamorphic master that they feel is "good enough". And all of their recent discs are still plagued by e.e., so it isn't like they recently figured out how to fix the problem or something.

Well, assuming the amazon page is correct, it's unrated... However, Kiera was 17 at the time, so any nudity in the 2 HAWT 4 THEATERS version will likely be provided by Geoffrey Rush.

The 3-disc gift set includes the existing Collector's Edition and adds "The Lost Disc", a 3rd disc with 8 never-before-seen bonus features. Same $29.99 SRP, so if you haven't purchased it yet, you get an extra disc for waiting!

Thanks for the info. Not worth a double dip just for an extra disc though.

Have they released what the 8 features are yet? I won't care enough to buy it no matter what but am curious what it may contain.

I'd Double Dip if there was more of the Zombie Monkey!

Ok so what are the 8 features? Does 1 of them include a kiera knightly nude scene? And Most Importantly What film before Pirates was she nude in? I Must See It!

Yeah, seems pointless and I be I'll be able to buy the bonus disc off of eBay or something.
The two disc set is pretty darn good, so a double dip is dumb unless there's a new cut.
