The Rapture is coming! (Errr, on DVD)

Just read this GREAT news on DVDFile:
Due on November 2nd is the Gus van Sant cult fave Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, plus the religious thriller The Rapture and the acclaimed Australian drama Proof. All will receive the remastered anamorphic widescreen and DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 treatment. Extras include theatrical trailers on each, plus two separate audio commentaries by director Jocelyn Moorhouse and actor Hugo Weaving and "Martin's Photo Album" slideshow on Proof, and an audio commentary with director Michael Tolkin and cast Mimi Rogers, David Duchovny and Patrick Bauchau on The Rapture. Expect a list price of $19.95 each.
Woohoo!! I've been wanting The Rapture on DVD for years now.

Nice. Not only is The Rapture is a good movie, but it has Mimi Rogers naked in it.

It's also nice to see David Duchovny contribute to the commentary.

Sounds like the commentary from the laserdisc.

Great film.

Oh thank you for posting this. This is one of the first movies I wanted on DVD, and alas, we see how that worked out. I can't wait to pick this up.

Great news - THE RAPTURE is a terrific movie, and the extras look great.

Don't overlook PROOF - a one-of-a-kind Australian film about a blind photographer (no, that's not a mistake) with an outstanding early Russell Crowe performance.

Hugo Weaving is in Proof as well. Looking forward to seeing this as I've heard some good things about it.

Is Russell Crowe's performance in the film better than the one he gave in Romper Stomper (another film that is usually overlooked)? If so, I might just have to check it out.

I'm glad to hear about The Rapture. I have a crummy video tape recorded off Bravo. Be nice to watch this without a screen full of static.

Kind of funny that they are portraying the movie correctly with that DVD cover instead of the sex'd up one they used for the VHS version (that made it look like a soft core pr0n movie.)

I guess PASSION OF THE CHRIST's success had something to do with it.

Yeah, I always figured when the movie 1st came out they were trying to sell it as some sex flick.
But with that dvd cover there's going to a whole lot of christain families that are going to watch this thinking it's a christain movie like LEFT BEHIND.
And there reaction is going to like when Janet Jackson showed her booby at the Super Bowl.

I agree. Trying to trick people into thinking this is a pro-religious film = bad idea.
