What about the US release of Romper Stompre (2-Disc)? At times I see it up to like $50, at other times it's just like $10 tho.

The 2-disc special edition is rare, but not the 1-disc. And to think - I could have picked that up at Blockbuster used for $10 a year or so ago.

Understood. Love the thread, btw. I would not have known about several of the discs listed being OOP, since I have them and wasn't searching for them.
I gots me a mint!

Wait Star Wars Ep I is OOP? When did that happen and why?

According to the list at hometheaterinfo linked on the first page, both Ep 1 + 2 went OOP in Nov 2003, but for some reason Ep 1 is worth some money while ep 2 is going for peanuts ($5-6 used at amazon) - also, ep 2 is still available from Amazon new for $27.

The prices showing at Amazon now for ep 1 are now lower than when I first checked, so I am adjusting (Down to $17 / $27 from $30 / $33 when I checked it the first time - more in line with Ebay prices I saw at that time).

Anyone still looking at this stuff?

I added "Half Baked", "Brazil (1-disc), and "Donnie Brasco" (Jewel case, not SE).

Hmm - I saw something odd tonight - I bought a copy of "From Dusk Till Dawn" Collector's Series tonight at Eb Games for $5.99, I see that DVDs123 pays more for the old 1-disc set than the 2-disc CE ($9.40 vs $6.50).

I find that odd.

Also picked up a copy of "Matinee" for $8 at Gamestop - disc is perfect, but the snapper case has some minor wear and some pen grooves where someone used it as a writing surface.

Garolo - un update on DVDs123 - I sent the package last Monday, got the check today. I spent a little more on shipping - $4.45 1st class insured vs $2.50 or so for insured media mail, to be sure it got there on time - they refuse it past 7 days.

was lucky enough to find a used copy of Karate Kid 2 on DVD, for 6.99 at Babbages. I never knew this went for as much as it did, but I'm glad I finally have this movie on DVD. haha trouble is finding the other 3 for that price

Nice find - that is about as good as my Karate Kid buy, I paid $3 more and the price at DVDs123.com is $4 higher ($27.80 vs $31.60). .

Yankee - check on Mel Brooks's "The Twelve Chairs" ... it *starts* at a hundred bucks at Amazon.

also, there's a thread regarding 'Clownhouse' which says it was just put back in print ... and then quickly recalled/pulled. Apparently, they didn't have the proper rights to release it. I don't know if it'll get more expensive, though ... it might have the same morbid curiosity as 'Salo', but it's not a Criterion.

There are a couple copies of Dawn of the Dead (US Theatrical) on Amazon marketplace for $11-12, by those notorious underpricers CD Warehouse.

Anyone feeling lucky? Could be a mistaken listing, or could just be one who doesn't know the value.

For the record, here are my purchases from CD warehouse:

Patriot Superbit Deluxe $8.99 (online) - no slipcase but mint otherwise
Karate Kid $9.99 (Local)
Armageddon CC $12.99 (Local) - no slipcase

And sighted online:
Big Trouble in Little China SE $11.99

And at Gamestop:
Matinee $7.99 (disc mint, some wear on snapper case)

Geez - I just saw 2 sealed copies of Dawn of the Dead at half.com for $350 - one if them by dvds123.com - what's up with that?

There is a sealed copy at Amazon w/autograph for $85.

This is a great thread and thanks to those who are keeping it up to date. I've done what I can to help spread the word by adding a link to this thread in the FAQ section of the stickied Used DVD Treasure Hunt Lounge Thread in the DVD Exchange Sub-Forum:

4. How can I find out if a title is Out-of-Print?

Look up the title here: http://www.hometheaterinfo.com/disconti.htm or check out this thread at the main DVD Talk forum.

Wow - I actually feel like a contributing member of this forum, instead of a bickering one (a la the HD-DVD thread).

Add "Tool - Salival." It's a music DVD/CD box set, going from $40 to $70 on eBay. Even more on Amazon Marketplace.

You add to your list "My Left Foot" with Daniel Day-Lewis. It is OOP and extremely rare, but is a known movie that won Oscars

Somebody as anxious as you seem to be should learn about the "search" command at the bottom of the forum. It can answer your question with stuff likethis , or this is a great one

I don't think specs have been announced, people aren't even sure if it's the PG-13 or the R-rated.
