Well, at least the site appears to be much faster now.

After searching through what has to be the worst forum in the world I found this post:
Re: The Future of Guzzlefish
-Paul, Moderator

I had a long talk with Dave the other night and I can answer pretty much anything youve been wanting to know.

Here's the deal.

As promised, we'll be getting our updates this week. Literally this week. No later than this weekend. By updates I mean Mystic River and everything else.

Guzzlefish has been sold. This is a good thing. Don't ask me to whom or anything in that ballpark, it will be a surprise.

Everything we've been promised is still promised and should be worked on once the GROUP of people who will be working on it are doing so. This means it will not take for ****ing ever for something to get done around here.

We will be taking ideas for an official ideas submission for the site. I will be compiling them. I will start another thread on it once I get around to it because there I will address the things that we're already aware of that are wanted as to prevent lots of repeats & whatnot.

The problems we've been having, to the surprise of many, are not Dave's fault.

Guzzlefish data, even the stuff that's already in there, will be greatly improved. More thurough.

All updates from this week on out will be automatic, therefore should the site get abandoned we won't be without updates in data.

Because of Guzzlefish's new, umm, associations, it will become the biggest and most complete cataloging site on the internet...

Direct all questions at me by either replying to this thread, IMing me at UGABartender41, or PMing me here... I'll tell you everything I'm allowed to.

The future is bright. You have Dave and my word(s).

I'm going to be an optimistic person and say (from this thread and other people talking about it) that GF could become what it should have been all along. Here's to hoping GF comes up to DVDAF, DVDSpot and DVDP levels

Looks like the database was updated. The reissues of Blazing Saddles and Goodfellas are both on there, as well as Bill Cosby Himself and some others that formerly weren't on there.

The CD database doesn't seem to be updated, though.

Yeah, Dave did a DVD update. But no CD update, yet.

Just in case you are wondering. Guzzlefish databases are being updated again. I added the films mine was missing last night. I plan to stick with it even though DVDaf is also part of my routine now. Never will I keep all of my eggs in one basket again after all thye problems with guzzlefish leading up to the sale.

If CNET really is the buyer and they hold true to the promises, i still think long term guzzlefish is going to be the best.

Here's hoping they will update soon. They have finally added Mystic River, but only the three disc and pan n scam versions. Also, they have the second season of Quantum Leap, which doesn't get released until December yet they don't have season one.

So I don't see any 'updates' or 'improvements' over at GF at all. I thought there was going to be a massive update over 3 weeks ago. I'm giving GF another week, then it's onto another tracking site.

Apparently the update didn't take. I agree, Guzzlefish is really shitty anymore. Forget them.

I'm already loving, LOVING DVDSpot. I've sent in 14 updates, all have taken in less than a day. LOVE IT.

I've given up on the fish... I loved the site when it worked well, but you don't promise updates only to never deliver.... dvdspot huh? maybe I'll check it out.

I agree with Tarantino. DVDSpot is really wonderful. It took me a few days to move everything over from guzzle, but it was more than worth it. Also, it is a lot easier to get set up when your additions are actually dealt with in a timely fashion. We waited for Guzzlefish to get their shit together longer than some folks would wait on a spouse. No more.

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
I just deleted all of my entries at GF. It's just not even worth my time to try to add a title anymore, since they didn't have ANY of the new titles I tried to add. There's no way I'm going to remember what was missing. That's why I keep a list of my DVDs - so I don't HAVE to remember.

Well, it's now been a couple of months since the promised upgrade and Mystic River is still not in their database.

Yeah I have suspended my guzzlefish activities and if they ever get going again I will take a day and verify/add everything needed to upodate it. As far as I can tell DVDs just stoped getting added months ago and have not restarted.

If they have the new movies. Tried to enter The Untouchables SE and Deep Impact SE and they are both not in there. DVDSpot has them both.
