Did anyone order on Bestbuy.com? I'm wondering if they are shipping the 2-disc version or if they have just screwed up again....

I went to one here, and they only had the 1-disc

I ordered it on Saturday, it shipped on Sunday and I'll let you know when I receive it at the end of the week.

I deleted the post on page 5 with the bad link. The weird thing is that it did go to the SS edition when I previewed the post. Thank you for bringing to my attention the bad link and I hope that this didn't confuse anyone.

There was one left at the BB in Woodland Hills.

Key word: WAS.

My local BB had 3 copies this morning, just put em' out, tagged $14.99. I checked last Thursday and again on Sunday. So, if you've been looking at BB and haven't found one yet, today might be the day...

I got my copy at BB Westbury NY $14.99 they had 2 copies. When I entered the store a guy working the dvd section asked me what I wanted, after saying Zombi he ran right to it and handed it to me.

Time = 5mins had to wait online because I was paying cash.

Well, it's about time for me to de-lurk...

For Atlanta dvdtalk members looking for this flick, the Best Buy on Cobb Parkway had three copies (two now) of the SS version for $14.99 as of 6h00pm today.

As someone not terribly familiar with this movie, I spent a good five minutes comparing the three versions on the shelf until I realized the BU, SS, and AB discs were the same movie. Grrr, I wish I hadn't picked up the AB version two weeks ago.

Best regards,
~~Nathan

the bozo's at the BB at Tenleytown Washington DC location, wouldn't have a single clue. You'd of course first have to find someone to help you though.

Did you/anyone manage to see which version came out top in the comparison? The site seems to be down until August 31st due to bandwidth charges. I know BU beat the Italian Shock and the Anchor Bay releases but do you know which was best? The BU or the Media Blasters?

another poster in the review forum supplied some screen shots to DVDbeaver for comparison. when I looked at them/read the comparison early this morning, it listed the best video as the Media Blasters disc, and the audio I think as a tie between the BU/MB disc.

Wow the Media Blasters version looks like the best one, colors look more vibrant.

The MediaBlaster's version is much brighter and very sharp. I still got both DVD's, since MB's was only 14.99 at BestBuy, and I had a $5.00 RewardZone coupon burning a hole in my pocket.

I also have both. I haven't had a chance to much of a comparison between the two, but from what I did see on my 53" set up, I found the difference between the two to be less striking than the screenshots show.

However, I must admit, from looking at these screenshots alone, there is a strong case to be made for the Blue Underground disc.

Look at shot 2 - how oversaturated Fulci's face looks in the SS version.
Look at the eye-piercing shot - the "hot spot" above the girl's eye is blown out and loses detail compared with BU.
The very next shot - look at the tree to the left in SS! Where in nature will you find such fluorescent trees?

I'm not sorry I bought both - they were both cheap, and I did enjoy SS's extras - but right now I can't help but think that BU's is a truer reproduction of what you would have seen in theaters.

I went to another BB, which said online that they only had the BU version. All I saw was the BU version on first pass. I went back another time and the SS version was just sitting there out of place . I went ahead and picked this one up for now, and I might pick up the BU version at a later date.

just like with Resevoir Dogs...you either take the crappy transfer with proper audio or the better transfer with audio problems. on this however, I'll still take the new transfer with the problem. and I hang on to my old discs anyway.

btw....Amazon mis-shipped an extra SS copy to me a few days ago. still have not sent it back so if anyone needs....

I could always just give it to a buddy.
