I am in the UK.
They are all worth getting really, none have extras or fancy menus but the video transfer is very decent, and it's nice to own all the old events in digital and the best quality avalible.

Here's mine. I just moved into a new apartment at the beginning of the year and had the chance to modify the interior before any furniture was moved in. The walls of the living room/home theater are painted to match the color of the TV cabinet which makes the TV virtually disappear into the wall if the lighting is set properly. I had speakers installed into the walls so I wouldn't have to deal with a lot of wiring running around the floor -- you can see one of the speakers to the left of the tall lamp in the corner. The thing in front of the lamp on the floor is a vertical fan.

The DVD collection is in the second bedroom which I use as an office. The shelving is an Elfa storage system from the Container Store which was installed into the closet of the office. I couldn't get far enough away from the closet to get a complete picture, but you get the idea.

I don't have season 2 of Six Feet Under. The problems are:
1) the fact that the packaging is completely different. They should have kept the size at least. I thought they should have used the design from the "Six Feet Under" book. It slides out, like the "Wild At Heart" dvd that's coming out.

2) the price. If I go to Costco it is $20 cheaper than Best Buy, but then I want to use my Reward Zone card to get the points. So, I said eff it. I'll wait until later down the road and get a discount when I buy two seasons at the same time, steal it or never buy it.

You have NO idea how much you need one. The Wavebird retails at $39.99, but you can get a new one on Amazon for $29.99. I think Electronics Boutique sells pre-owned ones as well. I think they're about 25 bucks.

I have a Wavebird (the Nintendo-made wireless), and it's real sturdy and works as well as a wired controller. Haven't tried any of the third-party wireless controllers, but then, I've never had any luck with third-party peripherals.

edit to add: The Wavebird works on a radio signal, not infrared (like a TV remote), so you can pretty much sit anywhere in your room and use it. Make sure, though, to set the controller and reciever to the same channel (there are 12 channel options). It may also interfere with your wireless phone (as it did mine), but all you have to do is find different channels on the controller & phone that don't interfere.

cheers.

My feelings exactly. I'm not holding my breath for even a Wrestlemania box here in the States and even if we got that, I can't imagine how long it'd be until we got PPVs like Survivor Series.

Very nice setup! I really like how you cannot see any speaker wires running up the wall. Your shelf idea is awesome. I have seen those before and I think you just gave me an idea on where to put my growing DVD collection. What I like is that you can easily expand it. Nice!

Cool looking shelf you got there. How many dvds will it hold? It seems like a lot.

Thanks! I think I estimated about 40 regular cases per section, so 1280 if I filled the whole thing. The very top shelf (you can just see it at the top of the pic) is pretty much empty and the bottom shelf is books, so around 960. There's about 500 or so now and I start to panic when it gets close to 600, so I'm hoping to be good with this setup for as long as I live....here.

went to best buy after seeing this post and found the same shelves marked 69.99 plus a $10 instant rebate. so we grabbed one and headed to the counter only to find that the $10 rebate was apparently left up by mistake. the cashier didn't want to give us the discount but finally did.....i like these shelves a lot and they are definitely worth $60. my only complaint is the placement of the stationary shelf. you either have to have a huge gap of wasted space or use the shelf for something other than dvds as well.

just a really quick anal retentive question for you guys who have your collections in alphabetical order, where do you put all the movies that start with "The" ?

Do you catalouge them without the "The" or with the "The"

Told you it was an anal question.

Cheers

I just ignore the word 'The'. Kind of the way DVDAf organizes its DVDs.

The should always be ignored, but not "A".

i always recommend the canadian company : www.videogamesplus.com for all your gaming needs, particularly those outside the USA who like to import games... i am in the UK and have used them for more than 2 years, the prices are cheap cheap cheap!... the shipping is too... take a look. GC games usually cost me just over £30 (£15 cheaper than UK issues sometimes) and GBA games just over £20... again £15 cheaper than UK ones... and theres loads of stuff like wavebirds there too... all consoles catered for...

Can you explain your rationale for this? I don't believe libraries, catalogs, etc. do it this way. They always ignore all articles -- meaning "the" and "a."

But the movie title is A Few Good Men, not Few Good Men. Although, The Haunting is The Haunting, you should still place it in the H'es and ignore the "The." Why? Who the hell knows.
