Last time I checked (less than a week ago) Big Emma's had the Disneyland USA Tin brand new in stock for $19.95 + S&H. I know because I ordered one of them... shipped today. It doesn't state whether it comes in the Tin, but it does say New, so I assume so.
www.bigemma.com Look in the out of print section (DVDs -> Specialty Items -> Out of Print). |
It most likely doesn't come in a tin for that price. There are about 20-30 of the Disneyland USA discs on sale on eBay for Buy-it-now of $19.99... and they don't include the tin.

For those of you looking for a Disneyland USA tin - there's one close by my house. I havent been by in a bit to see if they have it still, but if it hasnt sold by the last time I saw it, I doubt it did in the last month.
I'll gladly pick it up. . . in trade for a Davy Crocket tin. :) |

UPDATE: The Disney DVD Club is now selling Wave 2 for only $80, instead of the previous $100.

Mine still hasnt come in. I got my introductory DvDs two days ago. Does anyone know much longer I should wait. I signed up on the 16th and placed the order for Wave #1. Ive received a order confirmation, just not a shipping confirmation.

I received the shipping confirmation about a week after I ordered wave 1.
This is on wave 1 order information page: "Get the ultimate Disney collection now before they're gone! Each limited-edition 2-disc volume comes in a unique, collectible tin case, together now in a must-own 4-pack for a limited time only." I guess this can be viewed two ways, they used to come with a tin, but now they don't? |

I know everybody has problems with Disney, and I totally understand them, but I have to say, I've always found the info/help people from their DVD club to be really helpful. I did notice that they recently updated their site ... 1) lowering the price on Wave II, 2) adding a group of Wave III, and 3) changing the language on Wave I in a way which suggests that supplies are dwindling. |
Are there any places (preferably online) that still carry the Tomorrowland set?

I just called the Disney customer service line to ask what was the problem with my order. The lady was very nice, and she told me that she would make sure that the order was shipped as soon as possible. I was getting nervous. I thought they may have sold out and I missed my chance to get Wave 1.

I have just been reading this thread. This sounds like an awesome deal and I really wish I would've read it 3 days ago before I ordered 2 Tins from half.com for a pretty penny
Can someone confirm that by doing the Disney movie club you DO infact get the TINS and not just the 2 sets? This is quite a bit of money to invest, especially considering I just spent a bunch on just 2 tins, but I'd definately do it to get MMILC and the full Treasures collection... Thanks for all of the information on this deal... |

Cool! For a little more than the price of Alice in Wonderland DVD on DDD I got that and 4 more. Then I ordered wave 1. I also have Clock Cleaners and The Three Little Pigs on DVD UNCENSORED so this way I'll have all the wave 1 shorts 100% uncensored. And I can probably get at least $50 for Davy Crockett on ebay (I already have signed copy for that one).
I placed that order like 30 minutes ago but I got no email confirmation nor is the order status updated. Is this normal? |
I can confirm that the Disney Movie Club deal is legit. I ordered Wave 1 and Wave 2 on 5/20/04 and they shipped on 5/26/04. I received them 6/2/04. I was a little skeptical at first, too, but they did arrive in tins. I thought it was a whole lot better than buying them on eBay.
However, they have recently reduced the price of the Wave 2 from $99 for all 3 to $75.90. I missed out on that. Wave 1 is still listed on the website for $119.80 for all 4. And Wave 3 is now available for $99 for all 4 DVDs. Also, each DVD in your multi-pack counts as 1 towards your membership agreement. So, if your agreement says you have to buy 5 movies at regular price to fulfill your agreement and you buy Wave 1 (4 tins) that counts as 4 towards your agreement. Wave 2 (3 tins) would count as 3. The Walt Disney Treasures multi-packs are the only multi-packs that count that way. |

Thanks again to those who shared this excelent find with us, it was extremely helpful, and saved me a ton of money on getting some of these DVDs that I have been wanting for months (years even) Kudos... |
Originally posted by wastro The few Wal-Marts I've visited lately still carry a ton of all the wave 3 titles. |

I dunno man, thats just what the lady told me. I was confused also, but she said you can't make a second order untill you physically recieve your first 5 titles in the mail...I haven't tried to make said order I just took her word for it...?

I just received my wave 1 tins. I ordered them on the 18th and they were here when I got home from work today.
El-Kabong If you still want Davey Crockett send me an email and we can talk. I really only want four of the seven discs from the first two waves. |

You know, once I get these I think I'll buy some more wave 1 and 2 so I can make some $$$$ on ebay! |
update: I got my order confirmation emails and the order history lists everything:
DVD-WDT1-DAVY CROCKETT 1 DVD-WDT1-MICKEY/LIVING COLOR 1 DVD-WDT1-SILLY SYMPHONIES 1 DVD-MONSTERS, INC 1 DVD-THREE CABALLEROS 1 DVD-WDT1-DISNEYLAND USA 1 MISCELLANEOUS INSERTS 1 DVD-DUMBO 1 DVD-NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS 1 DVD-ALICE IN WONDERLAND 1 WELCOME KIT FOR NEW MEMBERS 1 I hope they’re with tins and everything. I’ll also have to decide how to get rid of Davy Crockett (since I have it) and possibly Disneyland USA (since it’s censored) And I hope the Nightmare Before Christmas is the widescreen and not fullscreen. I ordered wide but the order list does not indicate anything. |
